    Predictions on new gun laws

I predict that you can kiss the ability to purchase newly manufactured high cap mags goodbye! I also believe there may (and needs to be) tighter regulations put on gun shows.

I am also hoping that a tighter regulation on background checks goes into effect to help weed out sales of guns to mentally unstable ppl!

    Any other REALISTIC predictions!???

I thing you are right lunk the only thing that will change is a few gun show laws and the high cap mags will be done. Not sure about other states but here in South Dakota there is
no waiting period on hand guns I am sure that will change also.Went to a gun show this weekend and 30 round mags for AR's were selling for $100 apiece.

We're not allowed high capacity mags up here (Canada) on anything bigger than a .22 but we're allowed high capacity mags that are pinned to only accept 5 rounds (max you're allowed for a semi auto rifle). I wonder if you guys will get something similar? This stops law abiding folks but its not very hard to remove that pin to change that 5 round clip to a 30 rounder.

The word is either 7 or most likely 10 rnd restrictions. This will be most likely on mags produced after a certain date. They wont make you turn in the old high caps!

it's not a matter of if you can convert things...it's the enforcement of the lwas IF someone converts something!

10 rnds isn't too bad, but I guess I'm just used to less.

I know what you mean about enforcing. Especially when the clips looks the exact same and the only way to tell the difference is to load it up and see how many it'll hold.

A mass murder will just carry more clips if he can't get 30 round clips. I have a clip belt that holds 15 10 round clips for a .45, clips pull out easily and takes no longer the 1 second to reload.

    I don't see the point...

Your looking at things from inside a bubble. It wont stop violence and it wont lower violent gun related deaths....but it will be some compromise to passify the hang em high Dems and anti gun ppl. It's not logical...it's political!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it may take you 1 second it may take others 5 seconds. How many people could have gotten out of that movie theater in those extra seconds with out getting shot?
in AZ they were able to tackle the guy when he stopped to reload. So he would have only had 10 bullets to shoot then get tackled instead of the extra he had. Im sure the extra people who got shot between 10 and 15 would have though the law may have helped

I dont LIKE the restriction but...it won't kill me to have the restriction either. As an avid outdoorsman, I have always been raised to take one well placed kill shot. I have no true need to have 100rnds at my disposal to kill an animal!

I don't believe in the long run it will have an effect on the numbers in the years to come but I believe in compromise! I just hope that there is a sunset rule as with the bradey bill. At least this way if it's had no desired effect then it's not permenent!

one thing with it the law it will hard to prove its effect either way. If and when there is another mass shooting and say 10 people die. Does that mean the new laws did nothing because 10 people died? Or does it mean they had some effect because it was limited to 10 instead of 20?

Yea. NYS decided to be 'ahead' of the curve on gun control. It will be a misdemeanor if you're caught in possession of a 7+ capacity clip for any gun.

You also must now 'register' all "assault" weapons, and the definition of an assault weapon was reduced to one classifying feature. According to the news it was passed late at night and Senators had ~20mins to read over the actual bill (heres like link to the actual legislation: http://open.nysenate.gov/legislation/bill/S2230-2013). It was very backdoor according to those who opposed it.

Most laws can not be quantified. For example: Drunk Driving enforcement! How would you determine how many lives have been save by aggressive enforcement of these laws? You can't!

talked to deputy in my state. He said current state law to go into effect shortly WILL limit mag capacity to 30. Anything of higher capacity is not allowed loaded or unloaded.

My wife got hers 3+ years ago after she was approached by a man in a car in a mall parking lot while she was loading the stuff she bought into her car, the guy was naked from the waist down & masturbating, I was on my way to meet her for dinner, she moved to the other side of her vehicle & called me, about 5 or 6 seconds into her description of what was going on she says "Oh my god, he's getting out of his car!" I told her to run as fast as she can back to nearest entrance she could find back into the building & call the police & I would put out a call as well to "push things along". I got here about 2 minutes later & blocked the exit from the parking lot nearest to where she told me she was with my truck, got out & inspected about a dozen cars in line looking for a half naked retard. Never found him. But now the Princess doesn't leave the house without her 40 Cal...............EVER.

at least cigs, fast food, drugs are all killing yourself for the most part. i would have no issue with the guns if all people did was shoot themselves. So when people start buying heroine and running into schools injecting kids then make the argument.

its a gun its a FVCKING inanimate object. Get the fvck over it. People act like they are loosing their home, wont be able to feed their kids, They arent even taking your guns. Bunch of winy bitches, i see why some of these people need guns now. FVCK

Best post in the entire thread thus far & on the subject as a whole. Sometimes the masses need to grabbed by the neck & b!tch slapped back into reality. This being really dramatically blown way out of proportion, it's just a few restrictions, nobody is changing the constitution.

And by the way, the constitution states Americans have the right to bear arms............HOWEVER, nowhere in the constitution does it state we have the right to bear ammunition for those arms......................keep that in mind.

& your point is more drunk drivers have killed underage people, women & ederly then nut jobs with AR's.Plus your not looking at the bigger picture, your the same people who are quick to blame rap/metal music video games for murders and all of that other bullshit. Stop trying to blame the problem on some thing else & look at the real issue. Come downs to ****ing parenting & these sick mentally kids what need to be put or away or took out back & shot. If you look at the shootings in the past 10 years all of these kids had mentally issues. They shouldn't even be around the public let alone going to school or colleges etc

    I never said I would sell them . But I only have 3. (2) preban 30s and (1) 10 rounder that came w/

I read about 2 weeks ago there was some giant gun store in the mid-west that had a 3.5 year inventory of 30rd AR mags that sold out in 72 hours once all the gun control rumors started.

    What kinda AR you buy?

and they have lowered the limit on legally drunk and stiffened the penalties. This BS just shows how your side has absolutly no defense or even reasoning. All you can say is well look at these drugs, this food, oh dui's. You have no valid argument so change the subject.

And yes i agree there is more to it then just guns. But your in denial if the ease of access to guns isnt an a part of the problem.

I highly doubt you will EVER hear Gixx blame music or games for rising crime rates. Get real man. And I don't see him trying to "blame the problem on something else" either. You seem to think the guns are the problem rather the the idiot that picks up this inanimate object as Gixx put it & uses it to murder. Seems to me you're the one trying to blame the problem on something else.
