    First time carb cycling

Well I decided to try carb cycling and see what its all about. Yesterday had a no carb day and way lighter than usual cals. Today just stacked up on carbs...toast rice peanut butter , was working at a buddys and his wife made sandwiches and I decided to eat 4 of them. Also 4 servings of strawberry kobler.. Anyways, when I finally got around to training shoulders later in the day, I felt like every muscle in my body was about to pop. Half way through shoulders even my veins were growing veins, it honestly felt like I was working biceps cause of the pump...

Is this what carb cycling is supposed to feel like ? Cause I can honestly say Id try it again

ive been following a carb cycling/calorie cycling appraoch with IF this week and ive not felt better in and out of the gym! love it.........ill be going zero/super low carb on none training days and high carb on weight train days from now on in.

now i dont know if my approach is considered carb cycling by carb cycling standards i,e no moderate carb day etc......BUT its working for me.

what r ur stats? what r u trying to do?

what were the goal cals and macros for that day and where did u land in respect to them??

being full of carbs and glycogen def feels good. based on ur post u need to get a LOT more organized or u could gain body fat. u know ur metabolism better than anyone but 4 sandwiches + 4 cobblers + toast, rice plus peanut butter does NOT sound good.

any diet where u manipulate the carbohydrate macro IMO is a carb cycle. it basically describes what ur doing: cycling ur carb intake.. typically itll follow a pattern of sorts, like what u do: high on lift days/low on non.. an excellent approach IMO and what i do.. along with fasting on non days..

Thanks for the concern about getting fat, but Im pretty in control of what I eat.. Past 6 weeks I've gone from 16-17BF down to around 10.

Everyone needs to binge on some cobbler now and then!

Also , one day of eating some things like that keeps me sane, people have to many rules dieting, if I want to enjoy something I am going to... I work hard in the gym, and I eat properly 95% of the time, so the other 5% of the time I say fack it! It works for me, and that's all that matters

yeh i agree with u about everyone needing to cheat here and there to maintain sanity and compliance the rest of the time. however, the extent to which we can cheat varies greatly as im sure u know and just because one guy can have a cheat day each week doesnt mean the other guy can.

i was simply responding to the info provided in the OP. u were askn about carb cycles and then said u ate little to no carbs one day and a bunch of (IMO) junk the next and askd if this was how its done.., short answer: NO.. theoretically what u did could be classified as a carb cycle because the amounts of carbs on each day varied greatly but the sources of ur carbs as well as the quantity or lack of knowledge of quantity is what merits concern. it is certainly not representative of a properly set-up carb cycle, nor is it the way i would do mine or recommend anyone else do theirs..

there is a decent thread called: "hey 405 what is carb cycling?" u can search where i explain one style (glycogen depletion style carb cycle).. it shows u how to set it up from the beginning so ur not just eating "what u feel like" ..

I didn't explain what I did throughout the week, because I didn't feel the need to. Ive browsed that sticky before, and theres more than one way to skin a cat.

Also like I mentioned, I didn't even post what I was eating so I don't know how youre making these assumptions... I appreciate your concern man but I didn't start this thread to start a debate, was simply stating I had a great work out, and enjoyed some cobbler.

i dont recall asking what else u ate throughout the week. i also know theres more than one way to carb cycle. i was just offering it to u as something to read trying to be helpful.. since that thread i have moved to a 2 day and 3 day cycle and prefer them. i do not like the glycogen depletion carb cycles as much as for myself as there is no need for me to go that many days in a row without carbs and at this point i simply dont want to..

i know not of the assumptions u speak. u did post u ate 4 sandwiches (8 pieces of bread) and 4 cobblers.. also peanut butter (fat) which as a rule would be better left out of a high carb day diet.. i was simply clarifying for other readers these food choices were less than optimal in the event someone who did not know any better read this thread and thought u could eat whatever u wanted when carb cycling.

im not trying to debate u at either, just thinking about other readers. i was also thinking about you but apparently u know enuff to not need any assistance. glad u enjoyed ur cobbler. i prefer peach myself!

First time I've ever had , I think any flavor would be delicious. Like I said it was m first time playing around with carb cycling, and definitely going to try it again.
Sure peanut butter is not optimal but I haven't had any in 6 weeks... Everything in moderation.

Oh and for other readers, I don't condone eating 10 pieces of bread and a whak of cobbler in one day
