How much cardio is too much?

I've been working out on and for about 20 years and ready to take it to the next level. I've been working on cleaning up my diet the past two weeks and lose some body fat. I'm currently 5'9" and 175 lbs. My body fat is around 15%. How much cardio is too much? I don't want to lose any muscle just fat.

Cardio is never too much. Always try to challenge your limits. That's how you attend core fitness in my opinion.

It depends on goals. Different people will have different thresh holds of how much before they start burning up muscle. BCAA's help and I use them before every cardio session. I always do 1 hour per day, and while cutting I do 2.

I think its not as much about how much, but more the intensity. If you are doing to much high intensity cardio, and your diet does not compensate for that (taking simple carbs before and during cardio) your body will start to burn muscle.

And then agreed, every person is different. Find out how hour body responds and adjust accordingly.

    Start slow..couple days a week..and progress..
If you go all out at the beginning, you got no room to progress
