Psoriasis linked to TRT at all?

Last week my elbows were a little itchy but I thought nothing of it. The on Sunday I realized that I had what looked like excess skin was inflammed on my elbows. It has also been itchy as hell.

I went to the dermatologist but he didnt diagnose me with anything but asked if Psoriasis (which it isnt) was in the family. From what I have on my elbows and pics on the internet they look nothing a like. However the pics on the net are usually the scariest looking ones out there.


I was wondering if trt could have anything to do with this. He gave me some cream and asked me to come back in 4 weeks. Was a nice guy but not very helpful with a straight diagnosis.

I get eczema quite often on my hands. I can tell you since starting TRT the frequency has increased and it now can appear on my upper torso as well. Dont know if there's any correlation. I just use some Betamethasone Cream now & then to control it. No biggee really...

I have been on TRT for over a year now and never had anything like this in my life.


Its very very mild as its just on my elbow and I am not even a 100% sure it is Psoriasis. I ownt know until next visit either. I am just a lil freaked out by some of the pics on the internet.

I've seen it come up here on the forum over the years.

We're all different so what effects one man one way will be different for another.

I've never done any research into it but I'd be interested in what you find out as you do some digging.

A good research abstract would be great!

i have been on trt for 6 years.. also i have Psoriasis sense i was 8 years old on my elbows and knees very mild case. to answer your question does trt cause Psoriasis NO.........To tell you the truth my Psoriasis is cleared up sense i went on injections.... still there but very mild..

I havent drawn blood in like 6 months. I was going today because I met with a new endo only to find out they dont do trt injections. I waited a couple of months for this appointment so I am a lil late on blood work. ANyway my point....


A bad lipid profile can cause Psoriasis as per some things I have read on the net. I am going to a new endo on Tuesday and will have blood drawn then to rule out bad lipid profile.
