Just picked up my script for chantix. Hopefully this time I'll finally be able to kick smoking for good.

This shit comes with a whole host of potential sides that seem crazy, but most seem manageable as long as I avoid the suicide side effect.

First dose down! Let's see what kind of wild ride this turns in to.

my wife used it years ago. She had no sides. Took a lower dose then they recommended and quit in 10 days

Awesome. This is good news. I've tried all the other cessation items with no luck. Would always end up smoking while chewing the gum or wearing the patch. Granted over the last month or so I've managed to cut back from 2+ packs per day down to 1 so that should make this a lot easier than it could have been.

I've gotten everything else squared away i.e. Diet and training. This is the last step and I should start seeing some faster progress when it's behind me.

I've read a few articles stating that smoking increases myostatin in the body. This very well could be why I've been on my bulk for the last month or so and managed to lose a few pounds rather than gain anything.

But it's not all just about me. I have a 9 month old daughter and wanna kick this habit before she has a chance to remember me smoking and risk her picking it up down the road.

Just stop - It's all in your head. You still are in control. I stopped smoking cigarettes, weed and drinking within a year and have no reason of going back. I see it in front of me pretty much every day and still doesn't bother.

Good luck. The number one complaint that patients while taking chantix is that it causes vivid dreams.

Mate I tried them. Had the worst sides. Would walk around and all of a sudden begin to feel so depressed. I'd have to tell myself to snap out of it. It's the champix. Had crazy as dreams too. Got headaches from them. Was too much for me to handle

I'm more of a "cold turkey" kinda bloke myself.

So a doctor is helping out a patient with his wife present. it's an elderly couple, and so he tells them there are a variety of techniques that can be employed to help prevent the craving to light up.

"Such as" says the wary wife

"Well" the doctor starts, "there's always sex!"

The wife gives the doctor the stink eye and says...

"you know how many friggin cigarettes there are in a pack?"

Thanks for all the replies, but unfortunately the chantix failed at helping me quit. The only side effect that I had was a complete loss of appetite. Went from never being able to feel completely full to struggling to put in one meal per day. And even all these months later I'm still battling that issue. Some days I wake up starving and before I can even get anything prepped to eat the hunger has passed and it could be the entire day before I can even think about eating again without feeling queasy. I feel this is to blame for my current plateau hovering between 165-170. I use ghrp6 from time to time and it helps, but only for 2 meals per day as my lunch break isn't long enough to inject and wait for the hunger to hit and still have time to eat.

Still trying to kick the habit and some days are better than others. I quit several years ago and remained smoke free for over a year before picking back up, and this time the addiction seems to be stronger than ever before. I have managed to drop from a near 3 pack a day habit to just under a pack a day, but still working towards that end goal.

quite often it is the environment you live in that makes it tough to quit. If your friends and girlfriend are smoking, and you are trying to quit, then you need to think about that.

If your woman smokes, consider quitting together. More effective that way.

If you crave smoking when you drink, consider stop drinking.

If you crave after sex, then, well....
