Deltoid injections

All right, I usually just inject in my butt but I'd like to try my deltoid. I've watched vids of how to do it in YouTube but I still have two questions.

1) I use a 1 1/2 in needle on my butt. Is that too long? Should I go to a 1 in?

2) One of the vids said that there was no need to aspirate in the deltoid but all the others I watched said to aspirate. So, aspirate or not?

1. A 1" needle is plenty.
2. Aspirate anyway. I've drawn blood from the delt.

Video may have not referenced steroids. Most RN's don't inject steroids. usually something that wouldn't matter if it went directly into bloodstream, such as B12.

unless you have shoulders like mine, dont stick the whole 1.5 in, I still use 1 inch on delts its plenty as long as your lean.

1 inch is fine, Ive always been a fan of 1.5- either will do the job

I use 1.5 but only insert just over an inch that way i only have one type of needle to stock up on

somewhere i read deltoid injections dont give the same high blood concentrations of the substance when compared to a glute pin! best is glute followed by thigh.. plus delt pins hurts na ? never tried it..

I only shoot shoulders $ tri's. 1" 23ga for both - aspirate always - never had issues

Well, once I hit a tendon or some shit & my whole arm twitched.
Just pulled out & repinned without issues.

I have used 1.5" 22 gauge to pin winny in the delts and have not had any issues. You should be ok with a 1" unless you have a lot of fat around the delts. Always aspirate to make sure you are not drawing any blood.
