wth i feel confused an violated
okay I know the Site and members have changed a lot.
some trusted people have done some pretty untrustworthy things lately.
But I honestly didn't think any of this would affect me personally.
Until tonight.
So I have been texting and calling other females from the board here for quite some time.
All the sudden tonight I had a vibe about a text I received from someone that's a member here who i text often -so I decided to google her number.
Yes she is a member here. & I think she even has a spouse that's a member here Too.
I google her number and it comes up being from the Virgin Islands which is not where she originally told me she lives.
Not only does it say its a Virgin Islands zip code but also is listed under a ghost or scam area code.
*que the bad feeling on my gut*
I go through more specific search for her spacific phone number and it comes up under a list that includes a hundred other known spamer phone numbers. Along with many different sites reporting the number stating not to receive a calls or to call this phone number if you are initiated by text from this person because somehow people that do call or receive calls from the number and up with hundreds of dollars charged to their phone bill.
so here I am torn because I feel like I know this person yet I've never actually met this person and it's highly possible they could be a scam artist. On the other hand possibly I have the wrong information? And she is a legitimate individual that is who she say she is.
Either way I am extremely uncomfortable or less and so not used to friending people that I dont trust.
A year or two ago I probably would believe her when she says she's not a scam artist but currently after all the shadiness going on here I'm more inclined not to beleave her.
this makes me feel like a piece of garbage but on the other hand I'm extremely irritated and feel a little violated at the fact alone that I don't feel safe.
I have shared some things with her and did consider her a friend so I was upfront and I told her that I thought she was a scam artist and I told her about the sites and I even sent her a link to one and said I wouldn't call or text her anymore.
As far as I'm concerned if she is legitimate she knows now where I am coming from and should be able to understand my concerns.
I told her I would see her on the boards but I won't text or call her.
you know who you are.
And without definite proof I will not call you out because I feel that would be unjust.
But I do hope that in some way the screening process maybe a little more strict Here in case of spammer or a scammers .
hey if you are legitimate I would seriously suggest you post something under the comments on one of the links I sent you and Google your number an post on some of the other sites because I'm sure you wouldn't want people thinking that your a scammer if you are not.
the whole thing just sucks. Just flat out sucks.
