pain in the ass - first im injection

i'm 50 with low TES and just started my first TRT. i did my own first im injection friday around noon. i received clear instructions with my script and followed the instructions on glute shot as accurately as i could (for a beginner), using alcohol swabs as directed and injecting into the proper region. perhaps the only thing i didn't do very well was pinch the skin as i injected the needle (it's kind of awkward to do that myself).

yesterday afternoon (after a pretty intense leg workout) my glute starting aching in the region in which i did the injection. the pain feels like a shot-type pain - deep intra muscle ache. the pain is not too severe but i still have it this morning.

is this something i should worry about or treat in some way?

    thanks!

Hi Bartman, no you should be Ok, when I did my first injections in my thigh I could hardly walk, then 3 days later same with the other thigh. After 2 injections everything was sweet and no pain. Don't know if its something to do with muscles adapting etc. Guess the pro's will chime in. Also did you inject the Test at room temperature, if straight from the fridge this is no good. Guess as it on script it will be good.

Just try to relax the muscle when injecting. It was your first time so I can assume you were all tensed up. I bought a foam roller and use it after injections in my glutes. It help dissipate the cyp and break up scar tissue.

Look into injecting sub-Q instead. Works for the majority of us and no pain whatsoever.

Dave you said you alternate between
left and right glute, do you stick yourself once a week and do the
full dose in 1 spot sq?

I experienced the same for my first couple of IM quad injections. After a couple of injections per leg I rarely have any discomfort post injection, your glutes will be the same.
