Can you pressure cook or boil a sealed vial?

If I decide to cycle again I want to take every precaution possible to ensure I never get an infection. I was thinking if I could pressure cook or boil sealed vials I would kill off any possible bacteria and also filter the oil before injecting to ensure no particles are getting thru. Is this possible with rubber stoppers because wouldn't they melt?

You could get some stetile vials then filter you oil in to them them pressure cook them i can't remember at what psi i think it's about 15 psi it's for about 45 min and it doesn't melt the rubber

If you filter the gear through a .22um whatman syringe filter into a sterile vial you should be good to go. I you want to pressure cook that good too but I don't think it's necessary.

If you want to be extra cautious this is what I would do.. Filter the gear through a .22um syringe filter into another presealed sterile vile..

You can use a pressure cooker to do the final sterilization. 15psi for around 30 min. I prefer a pressure cooker that has a metal tray inside that keeps the contents in there elevated slightly above the water..

Hit the lab section and do some searching, lots of info on this subject...

That would be Tyndallization (named after the scientist John Tyndall).
But it requires 3 separate boils and is probably less effective than autoclaving.

I think he was thinking about how tantalizing all that test looks together in one pot.

It's just a pressure canner. You can buy them at any department store for a reasonable price.
