    Exclamation Bicep tendon tears

Hi guys, I am a natural ectomorph and I think I would be at an increased risk of bicep tendon tears if I took steroids. From what I have heard it is because the tendons cant keep up with the amount of weight that steroids allow you to lift. The question I have is do many people on steroids actually tear their bicep tendons or other tendons?
Or is it just that everyone who tears their tendons posts about it and everyone who doesn't just goes on with their life which makes it seem more common than it actually is?

And would doing say 20 or so reps on all bicep exercises make it less likely to happen than say around 8 or so reps with higher weight.

    Thanks.

It takes time to strengthen your tendons and ligaments. Which is why it is advised that you have a number of years of constant lifting experience before you hop on the juice.

Eg. There are 2 guys. One has been lifting for 10 years and the other 6 months. Which one has stronger tendons/ligaments?

Thanks for the reply. But does anyone know if it is common to tear biceps. I have lifted for a year now and if I was to take steroids what chance do you think it would be to tear my bicep. I would using high reps with strict form.

Why are you so worried about biceps...? Thats just one muscle out of many... give it another year or 2 at least before you think about juicing. .

None of the guys I started steroids with tore a bicep. We're doing straight bar bicep curls at 165 lbs with no problems.

When your tendons are inflamed you may have a better chance of a tear, but it can happen without steroids by just over stressing them. You would have to be pushing a lot of weight way beyond what you are use to. I would not worry to much, just do a proper warm up and prepare your muscle for whatever you are going to do. Triceps cn tear, hamstrings etc. Also, tears happen in various sports, exercises etc. Arm bars!

I tore a bicep tendon just by laying brick. Sometimes shit happens. The key I think is to not take steroids until your body is ready for it. If you have been lifting for 6 months, there is no way in hell you have maxed out your natural potential.

Good question in relation to all tendons really, not just biceps.

Everyone i know that tore a bicep was in pretty good shape. Biggest problem in regards to his question is when someone who goes from curling 30lb. dumbells to 50lb dumbbells in a matter of 4 weeks depending on what their taking would have a higher risk. You can get carried away with the strength. It's definitely safer to take that super Tren strength a little slower.
Higher reps would be safer, except i knew one guy tore his bicep doing light curls. But i think in his particular case it was from overuse. Would be more common in middle aged men. But in todays world of athletics, people are pushing themselves very hard and high level athletes are not usually middle aged. I don't think there's much of a standard on it.
