Is it a very common scandinavian surname, magnusson, or are these strongmen related to Magnus? One seen a few younger guys with that name lately.

common yes, but its not a family name. his fathers name is Magnus. But i dont think he is the son of Magnus Ver (4x WSM).
he has done above 460 without equipment, completely nondrugtested ofcourse but still the best in his class (look it up, the lift was very easy)
ps. The proper writing is Magnús, ú is pronounced pronounced like in Nazgúl
