This might be a dumb question. But if the ingredients say 1/4 cup of brown rice equals 180 calories and 40g of carbs. But obviously when the rice is cooked it expands to 1/2 cup. Is this the right logic or does it expand more?

Will probably expand more but the calories remain the same, as you cook it the seed takes up water leading to expansion.
The calories are for its dry form , but so long as its just tap water its the same calories since h20 has no calories
100g of dry brown rice looks like a joke , but cook that stuff and its a decent serving![]()
