    I Need Your Advice

im kinda in a catch 22.
i work nights nearly all the time and my life is basically the wrong way round, so my gym time comes as soon as i finish work (8am). i eat a slow releasing carb meal with a protein shake aprrox 1.30 to 2hrs before i train. i read online that you shouldnt eat anything 2 hours before you sleep to aid weight loss. the things is i eat probably my biggest meal post workout and then get some sleep roughly half an hour an hour later. obviously you need sleep and enough of it.
im currently on a weight loss diet (high protien/low carb). im eating clean and even on a cheat day i dont hammer a mcdonalds. the things is im having great result and ive lost over 14lbs since the 16th january this year.
my main question really is what time do you have your latest meal (what kind of meal) before you sleep and do you have any suggestions on how i should evolve my gym time around my job?
i sleep during the day and i dont get up till around 9pm so the gym here is shut.
    thanks

There is no magical time when the body will decide to store energy as fat instead of muscle. The body is constantly going through waves of fat loss/gain and muscle loss/gain periods. Don't worry about the timing of your food so much as just making sure to get in everything you need by the end of the day. Nutrient timing is largely a function of personal preference. Find the timing that allows you to have the highest intensity in the gym bc this is the only way it will affect your body composition. It won't do so directly. I work out late usually around 8 and get home around 10-10:30. By the time I eat and finish it's time for bed. My progress has not been affected in the least. Don't be fooled by everything you read about micromanaging every minute detail. Fat loss does not occur acutely (a minute, an hour). Look at the big picture and what happens over time. Here is a great read regarding nutrient timing from JISSN:

Not a problem buddy. Hit the gym when you can, eat when you can, make your diet fit your needs and lifestyle, Don't worry about the timing so much and enjoy the progress you will see. Congratulations on losing the first 14lbs and good luck with losing the rest

not a baker but a hotel night porter. playing ps3 and practicing your putting in the hotel lobby gets kinda boring. its easy but not exactly exciting
