abscess / sterile abscess

Ok, every damn time I try to pin my glutes I get a damn abscess or sterile abscess. I had one a bout 2 weeks ago or so, I got some antibiotics form a friend and it cleared up within a week. Now I have another one from an injection about 5 days, this one is much larger and its not really showing signs of improving. How long should I wait before I go to the doc? I am fairly sure that the juice is getting between the muscle a skin thus causing a sterile abscess. Every time this happens it usually dose not show up until a day or 2 after the injection. I just don't want to not go to the doc and end up needing surgery or something...

Please help...

PS I have put the same juice in my quads several times with no problem other than some pain.....

Hmm, could be a number of things. I would like to know what your S/S of your damn abscess or sterile abscess
Abscesses generally will not heal by just taking antibiotics. Your abscess needs to be drained. Any emergency department, of a minor care clinic, can do an Incision and Drainage (I&D) of your abscess. Packing is usually placed to keep the incision open so the healing process can take place from inside to outside. Do not try to drain it yourself as this can cause a very bad infection.

BUT with sterile abscesses... I just used a heating pad and they went away

You pinning Prop? I get like that with Prop. I'm fine with Enth. I think the gear might not be good. If the raw powder sits for a long time and absorbs water it can start to break down before it's made into gear. Who knows? If it feels like the gear's not good, dump it and get a different vial.

No its not prop, its enth I an pinning.... only place I seem to have this problem is the glues for some reason

I have been told it sounds like a sterile abscess... I have no fervor, its a large hard lump around the site its red and swollen and warm to the touch.... I am told that this can happen if the gear gets between the muscle and skin...

Mate, I would think that either you are using an old needle or their is a problem with your gear.

The only time I ever had a problem was 8 years ago, I injected a calf! Stupid!!

Try another supply, that looks wrobg to me!

what size needle if its a 1" that's probably your problem use a 1.5"

How did this pan out? Did you just tough it out? If so how long did it take? I am having the same problem with my glute.

that pic is not abscess. it is cellulitis. you need to get some flucloxacillin 500mg , take it 4 times a day for 7 days.

It can happen anytime you have a break in the skin where bacteria gets into your system. With injections its due to not using alcohol to clean the skin or touching the needle before you inject it. It is really common. You see it a lot more with people with DM
