The reason they ask is so they can give good advice. If someone gives advice without knowing your stats it probably isn't very good advice.
They are not asking it for the reason of embarrassing someone.
Don't ask a question if you don't want to hear the answer.

our answers are based on your stats, your knowledge of nutrition, and a variety of other factors.
if you do not want people to ask this information, then the member should update their profile so we can see what is going on and not have to ask the question in the first place.
BTW, I noticed you did not update your stats on your profile page. It's there for a reason.
