    couple cutting questions

Hey everyone. I'm 20 years old, about 200 lbs and I figure about 16 to 17percent bf. Been training for three years now, bodybuilding style and natural. I'd like to go on a cut to lose a fair amount of body fat. Would like to get down to 10 percent and do a slow progressive bulk until I decide to maybe do anabolics.

Right now I'm eating 3000cals, about 65 fat 200 protein and 420 carbs.

I don't have experience cutting, but have access to ephedrine and caffeine (have used ec in past). Should I incorporate fasted cardio? I've also heard conflicting arguments about what to do in the gym.. Keep weights same but lower volume etc.

Biggest question is macros- I've heard raising protein is a good idea because it helps to satiate you. Any insight is appreciated.

You're still a few years away from safely using steroids.

All you need to do to lose weight is eat in a caloric deficit. 300-500 is an ideal deficit for maintaining muscle mass.

What do you mean by lifting with a bodybuilding style and lifting naturally?

Keep lifting as hard and as heavy as possible, do whatever works for you while in a surplus.

Protein is fine where it is, use fibre from veggies etc to keep you satiated. Fats pretty low, I would advise against going any lower than that. So leave protein and fat where it is, manipulate carbs to create your deficit.

Do you know your TDEE? Have you been maintaining for any period of time?

Thanks for the reply. Yes my tdee is about 3000. So I should take all of my cals from carbs? Makes sense. Yeah I've heard veggies are very helpful.

Personally I'd take your protein up to 230-250g. Fats at about 60g and the remainder from carbs.

I'd spend a week or 2 trying to find out your ACTUAL maintenance calories as Khazima alludes to, and then deduct cals or add cardio to create the deficit.
    NO SOURCES GIVEN

I like this approach. Important to remember your deficit can come from cals or increased energy expenditure and idealy both like BinB says.

Yes thank you. I'm going to sit at3000 for another week or two and make sure this is my maintenance. Not sure if I want to eitherlower cals or just add in cardio.. Probably will do cardio just for health purposes.
