The verdict is already out; they just haven't announced it yet. They're not going to spend that much money on riot gear and organizing the national guard without knowing already.

Supposedly an insider indicated he wouldn't be indicted

Good thing too. The cop was just doing his job. It was really Eric Holder, Obama and the media that tried to use this incident to divide the country racially. If they want to talk racism, all of them are racist.

Looks like things went as planned. Nothing like ignoring facts. I think its sad it even went to the Grand jury. I also cant believe they want to compare a common thug who had just moments before stole from a convenience store, resisted arrest and attacked a police officer to MLK

Got to love the fact that our wonderful Governor stood by withholding both the police force and the national guard from stopping the looting and burning of the businesses in downtown ferguson. Way to go Governor! After all we wouldn't want to infringe upon the civil rights of the looters now would we? Man what a messed up society. And to think we as Americans go all about the world promoting our wonderful system as the best in the world! Sad thing is that all those people of color that came forward and said the kid was running away from the cop that the cop shot him in the back were all proven to be lying. Isn't that called perjury? reminds me of OJ Simpson and his trial where it did not matter what the facts showed he must be proven innocent to satisfy one group or the other or they would riot and burn down the towns. Man is our system screwed here or what?

I don't see anything wrong with it going to the grand jury. In a case like that where one man shoots another who is unarmed, it should go to the grand jury. I don't think a police officer should be given special treatment, at the end of the day it's one man shooting another. That said, I can't understand all of the people saying there was no justice. It went to the grand jury, they found no evidence of murder, that's how our justice system has always worked.

Funny thing (not haha funny), two days after Michael Brown was shot, an almost identical situation occurred in Salt Lake City, a cop shot dead an unarmed teenager. The only difference was the cop was black and the teenager was white. Why wasn't this mentioned, where's the outcry for justice?

All of that aside, I do think there is a culture of maybe not corruption but improper behavior and power in U.S. law enforcement today, that is a problem. Is it the fault of the individual police officers? No, it's our fault. We've turned and allowed law enforcement to become rulers rather than peace keepers. We've taken the idea of cops being granted a certain level of respect because of their job and turned it into a society of men that are outside the law themselves. Think about it, if you say anything negative about a cops actions, you'll have 100 people screaming "how dare you, this man puts his life on the line every day." See, that's a problem, it grants them unjustified immunity in many cases.

As far as the case at hand, it seems based on the evidence the GJ made the right call. However, it's hard not to wonder if the force used was not over the top due to the fact that when Brown was finally shot dead he was very far away and unarmed. The officer could have easily disabled a charging man without shooting him or even laying his actual hands on him at that point. But the law in that respect is on the officers side. Should that law be changed? I'm not sure but I lean towards yes.

I hate the fact anyone was killed period. with that said here is a problem I have with the whole scenario. On the same day this man was killed by this officer in Ferguson. whited cop kills black man, 16 black people were killed in Chicago by black on black crime but not one black person stood up and raised hell like they are over one white cop killing a black person. Why aren't these same people who are raising hell in Ferguson demanding that all crime be stopped? and why is it ok to riot and steal and burn when a verdict goes other than the way some want it to? Do we see Chinese or Hispanics or Whites stealing and robbing and burning when verdicts don't go a way in which they want???
