Swollen ankles on cycle.

Hi all

In week 7 of my cycle: test e - 500mg. Arimedex .25 eod. HCG 500 iu. I also take 75 mg aspirin daily. I'm 40 years old. Last couple of days I've been getting swollen ankles. Today quite bad but been working for 12 hours in tight heavy steel toe cap boots.

Has anybody else experienced anything like this. Any thoughts. Any help appreciated.

Sounds like pitted edema? An early sign of kidney failure.

Do you have dark colored urine??
Any dimpling??

No renal symptoms at all.

My fluid intake has been minimal in last two days as been real busy at work.

Could be an osmotic imbalance within your kidneys' glomerula. You should be drinking tons of water to flush your system and get your ion balance back to normal. Keep an eye out for protein in you urine.

Yeah I'm hoping it's just a fluid intake problem as haven't had any problems up until now and have been really bad with water intake last few days. But prior to this been drinking plenty.
Blood pressure has been stable and have not niticed any other problems.

I've had that exact same problem twice, and both times it was when my E2 was elevated. Upping AI and bringing E2 back down gets rid of it within a couple of days for me. I'd look at E2 before jumping to conclusions about something more serious. Hope it turns out to be that simple.

I had bloods done just after starting the cycle at the docs but still have no results. As for midway bloods I have not (foolishly) put anything in place for this.

My plan at the moment is to increase my fluid intake as I had no problems before and see what its like next week. If they are still swollen then it will be time to involve the doc and 'fess' up. This is not ideal as this will go on my medical record and could affect my job prospects in the future.

At 7 weeks into cycle you're fully saturated with test now and its not unheard of to need to increase your Ai a bit, .25eod is a starting point, but many people find they need more. Going up to .5 eod would still be a very reasonable dose so I think you'd be safe to try that. I'm no doctor, so you need to do what you feel is best, but personally I'd go up a little on the Ai and increase fluid and see where that takes you for a week or two before getting too concerned. I had myself all worked up over it convinced I had renal failure the first time it happened, only to see it go right away with e2 lowered.

Cheers Baxter. It has scared me and rightly so. I was beginning to take the cycle a little for granted and became lax with diet and nutrition. Hopefully this is just a little wake up call.

I experienced some bloating before when taking orals.

not sure what is going on with you. if the swelling continues to recur, then you may want to consider reducing or eliminating some of the gear you are taking

It's getting better already. Fluid intake yesterday was over a gallon and on track today also. However, I've increased my AI to .50 eod. Will do this for 1 week and reevaluate.

It is the worst when a cycle starts to go sideways, mine did also with gyno issues, just have to try and stay calm and let the changes have a chance to take effect.

Okay guys... Sad news! I've decided to end the cycle. My ankles are still swollen and today after a walk of about 3/4 mile my ankles were sore and swollen. They are pitting! to be fair they are not as bad as they were a couple of days ago but it's now scaring me.
I'm so p1ssed off that I have to end the cycle but I think it's for the best. I'm open to any thoughts from you guys.
Can I stop my cycle now (7 weeks in) and commence a PCT as I would as if it was the end of week 12. so a short break and then start the Nov and Clomid.

Keep your legs elevated when you can.

Water retention in your legs can be heart related too, not circulating enough.

Get it checked as it could lead to leg ulcers regardless of the cause.

Stay calm, if it were me I would simply answer all doctors questions honestly, not confess immediately as it's possibly unrelated.

Totally agree. I work in the medical field and heart failure and such like is not an over night occurrence. Also there are no other syymtoms. I have no SOB and my chest is clear with no crackles or basal creps.

They are a lot better now, still there but almost gone. I have stopped my cycle and increased my AI until PCT begins.
