Quads showing nice separation laid down but...

My quads are showing nice separation when I hang them off the bed but tensed, as soon as I stand up the lines disappear, strange, it's not the lighting, could it be water ? I should have taken pictures to describe. They do look awesome sat down but not stood up, doesn't make sense

So your hanging them off the bed and they appear more cut then when flexed? Are you engaging all of the muscle right while posing? Start at the bottom and work up. Make sure to flex those hip flexors. Those can really make the legs pop.

As soon as I stand up with quads flexed the definition disappears. I guess I'll have to try flexing them a different way, heels into ground maybe
