    Need advice on Insulin only protocols?

    Hello All
    I was training about 20 years and juiced for 10 of it
    I did insulin/GH for the last 3 years up until 2011 until life happen (Kids & work).
    I have had no training at all and diet was shit up until 8 months ago!
    Im trying to get my natural base back to 200p before I start juicing properly again. I am on TRT from the doctor sust 250 -2 a month!

    I have been reading tons and tons lately to try learn what's new insulin but really need personal examples so I am looking for advice on insulin only protocols/examples of what works for each person please?
    I found insulin to be amazing and had no problems with it all!

    stats:
    I went from around 225 lean to my current 180. I am back lifting now 8 months with an upper/lower split 3 days week- mon/wed/fri. Its going well and Diet is getting better. Age is 37

    I just got a box of novorapid and my TRT test e from doc and really need advice on protocols
    As it says above i did insulin for 2 yrs but that was years ago now and there are so many protocols im actually confused!
    most of all on the 10g of dextrose per IU: do i break that up into 3 shakes and take at different times or is that amount to be taken per shake?

    Congrats on the restart, Steve! I can't imagine it has changed much since your last go around.
    I learned my protocol directly from a current IFBB pro who was a top amateur before that. Now if I said his name, you would know him and he is HUGE!
    He only uses slin post workout. He said there was no reason to do it any other time. Standard 10g quick carbs per 1 IU in the post workout shake. Of course, put your protein and creatine in there, too. He said he never exceeded 10 IU. I've personally done it for years and never exceeded 6 IU. Of course, I'm not as big as my buddy!
    I use Humolog (rapid) but I honestly think I got more out of Humolin R (regular insulin) which is what my bud uses. It's cheap and over the counter down here in FL.
    To wrap it up: shoot 5 IU post workout with a shake containing 50g of quick carbs plus your extras.
    So that's my protocol and probably what you were doing before. Good luck and stay safe!

    It feels great to be back training but hell i keep getting little injuries! not as young as i use to be and its taking forever for my weight and strength to go up! really taking it easy and want to get back to 200p natural before i start juicing.

    I was going to only run slin only but my doc has put me on TRT now so will be running that aswell at TRT levels only as he will be doing bloods every 2nd month for the first year he said! That means I cant do any proper cycles till he is finished!
    When i did slin years ago from i can remember my protocol was:
    PWO 8-10iu of Humolog
    PWO 15mins - 80g dextrose with 50g basic whey
    PWO 1hr - 25g dextrose with 50g basic whey
    PWO 2hr Normal meal chicken fillet with some rice OR it was high protein skimmed milk!
    Which seems basic compared to now i think?

    I think i gained around 15 pounds and kept most of it after stopping which i was very happy about!
    But since i decided to go back juice and slin I have been reading about what people are doing now and it seems to vary a lot!
    With what have read so far on novorapid its very similar to Humolog so was going with the following for novorapid protocol:

    immediately PWO 8-10iu of novorapid (will start at 2iu first and build)
    PWO 5mins shake 1 - 40g dextrose with 5g creatine, 5g glutamine and 10g BCAA
    PWO 20mins shake 2 - 40g dextrose with 50g whey protein with 10g leucine
    PWO 1hr - 20g dextrose with 50g basic whey
    PWO 2hr Normal meal chicken fillet with some rice OR 1 litre high protein skimmed milk!

    What do you think I need to change on the protocol please?

    Is it OK to use high protein skimmed milk with slin?

    would you recommed taking low dose T4 aswell with slin?

    Novorpaid is all i can get in Ireland, trying to find my self a new local source but finding hard

    You should get something out of the TRT for sure!
    I've never gone over 8 IU myself post workout. Chased that with 50G fast carbs and 60G whey. I loved adding 5G creatine until it started giving me asthma. That really did work great, though!
    Your protocol looks fine but I don't consider that basic! I've always heard to keep the fats super low during the 2 hour slin window, too. Skim milk has a bunch of carbs compared to full fat so that would be a good choice.
    Novorapid is a good choice, too. I use Humolog which is the same thing pretty much.
    I don't know about the T4. I've used frag 172-191 but I don't think it did much. Not worth the money in my opinion.
    Go for it and let us know how it goes! Just keep a can of pop around just in case.

    Thanks for the advice! Im feeling more confident about starting my slin again now
    I have been searching for months and think Ive found a new reliable source online so all is going well now
    Training/diet are on point now so just waiting a bit longer to get my weight higher naturally b4 i start juicing proper
