    Importance of Protein on off-days??

    Could someone give me the 'definitive' word on the importance of protein on off-days?

    I usually get 1 gram per pound on days I've lifted, and maybe 2/3 that on off days. Also, if I have a workout at night, besides the pre-bed shake, how much should I be consuming the following day for best results?

    Most of you guys will say "just eat 300 grams every day!" and stuff like that, but not only am I lactose intolerant (no milk!) but I try and eat healthy (ie: no 6 eggs for breakfast, lots of organic foods... etc etc)

    If anything, protein requirements would be HIGHER on days off, as that is when repair is taking place of the muscle(s) you thrashed the day prior.

    Keeping it consistent is the best idea.

    I agree with Swole. I'll usually have more protein on days off cause I can throw in an extra shake or two due to the extra time I have that day (since I'm not driving to, working out, and driving back from the gym).

    swole is right on, as usual. your protein needs are just as high.

    as far as eating "healthy" and not having 6 eggs at a time...what you need to do is use egg whites instead of whole eggs...pretty much pure protein, no cholesterol, fat etc (it's all held in the yolk).

    my protein stays the same on and off days, always in excess.
