    amp openers

    whats up? Where in the HELL can I find an amp opener? I find it easier to find gear then this stupid thing. Thanks for any help...

    Doug, it is against the board rules to post up sites like that. That is why I kept it to PM's. If you dont remove that link it's going to get the hammer of a MOD dropped on it.

    I got mine from gpz and i hate it. I think theres a trick to opening amps and it works well when your trying to snap the top off say your tryin to snap to the left and it doesnt work then try to the right there always seems to be one weak side. Ps this is with the omnadren amps I have now might now work for everything.

    Use a paper towel torn in half to cover the amp, roll it tightly around the bottom of the amp just below the breaking point of the neck. then cover the top of the amp loosely with the second half of the paper to prevent cutting yourself. Hold amp in left hand with index finger around the amp, with right hand index finger and thumb snap off the top of amp.

    Just how I do it.... good luck.

    If your unsure, just use a pencap or amp opener.

    1 more thing, be sure to check your fingers for slivers of glass, I rinse my hands with hot water just in case I don't see any stray glass fragments.

    i use a pen cap too. i was thinking of buying an opener from gpz but i done want to waste $7.
