Lone wolf, and 90% of the time fine with it.
Anyone read the book/study "Little Big Men"? The answers so far are to be expected if you agree with the findings.
Both, I am more on the introverted side but when in a social situation I can talk to anyone.
lone wolf nad happy with it jut me my girl and 6 or 7 friends thats it for me and yeah the 200 ppl i got there number on my cell phone but rarely call them
Same here, and it is my choice. I can always make new friends if I want but I don't. I'm happy with my life.Originally Posted by CrystalMethodX

Social animal with enough knowledge to just conisder the 50 new folks aquaintances since friendship needs to be earned over time.
Exactly, big diff between a friend and some fools you met 20 mins ago.
That's how everybody thinks nowadays and so the vicious cycle goes round and round.Originally Posted by Benches505

That's right baby!!!!! I think I'm social to an extent. I get bored with people VERY easily. I start out social but become a lone wolf shortly there after.Originally Posted by redmeat

Very much lone wolf here...
I like being alone... absolutely HATE crowds or large gatherings of people, and there is nothing I hate more than people who try and talk to me uninvited.

Probably Lone wolf, i DJ at clubs so get to meet alot of people when i do, so maybe a bit of both.
lone wolf
I would say I am more of a lone wolf. But I like to meet people when they just come over to a friends house, and they are not total strangers.
And I am satisfied with that

Seeing the results here up to now, I have a theory that the lone-wolf side will win this poll, but maybe not for the reasons we think...
I think the medium of the poll sort of affects the results right off the start... think about it... we're on an internet bulletin board... what kind of people congregates on and spends countless hours on an internet board?see where I am going with this?
I have a funny feeling if you held this same poll in a gym (to get bodybuilders and fitness people, just like here), the results would probably be quite different, I'd venture to say 50%/50%

Thats a good observation, I hadnt even thought about that...Internet is for sure my main way of beeing social with people. Without it I would go nutsOriginally Posted by Red Ketchup
I disagree. I think it is the lifestyle we have choosen. The disciplined nature tends to attract/breed people who prefer to be alone.Originally Posted by johan
Ya, I think that bodybuilding isn't a team sport, and it attracts the lone wolf sort of individual. I'll bet that football attracts more gregarious sorts of people . . .
Me personally, I thrive on being by myself. I've put together social organizations before, and can do pretty well at parties, but all things being equal, I much prefer the peace and quiet that solitude brings.
One of my best Christmas holidays was spent alone in a hotel . . . I was driving a VW from Texas to Massachusetts, and a wheel bearing gave out at 11 pm, Christmas eve on the freeway in front of a Holiday Inn on the NY-PA state line. A helpful fellow answered my plea for help over the CB radio and towed me up to the hotel (gave him a bottle of my famous holiday glugg), and I spent Xmas day there in peace and quiet. Watched some opera on TV, looked out the window and watched it snow for a while, relaxed, it was great. Got the car fixed the next day and continued the trip, got to my destination, and wished I was back in the hotel . . . lol . . .
Anyway, I'm mostly "lone wolf," but when the need arises, I can mix and mingle with the best of 'em.

Thats nice. To be able to be both but choose one over the other and not be forced to take either roleOriginally Posted by Tock
I was quite the social butterfly when I used to drink as well.
The problem is to be honest most people annoy me and are very self centered. Once I quit being a follower and wanted to do things I wanted to do my list of "friends" got shorter and shorter. Then Once I got rid of the "friends" that called only when they wanted something the list got even shorter.
Then once I quit being an unconditional "giver" whether time, money etc.. people dropped like flies. Most people aren't worthy of my time, it's not arrogance it is just the way society is these days.
Lone wolf, but surprisingly all of my friends, are the opposite - super outgoing, love to socialize, etc.
very good point, my thoughts exactly, I've been burned too many times when "friends" borrow money and never pay it back... I must have ATM tattooed on my forehead.Originally Posted by 1victor
