    Egg Whites

Ok, so we have egg whites for breakfast, 1st meal of the day. How does everyone have there's though? Do you just whisk them in a bowl and microwave?

I've been eating scrambled egg whites for breakfast almost every day for the last 5 years! You'd think I'd be sick of them by now but I'm actually not.

I scramble them in a pan, use fat free Pam so they dont stick. I'll add salsa to them, salt and pepper. Definitely beats plain egg whites. I use to add a whole egg for some extra flavor but now that I'm dieting just the whites.

Most of the time I just scramble them up, then use the atkins sugar free "ketch-a-tomato" and sometimes top it with some fat free cheese (doesn't taste close to the real thing, but gets me by). Oh and salt a pepper.....

Or if I have some left over rice (brown/basmatti) then I'll cut up some green onions, some green peppers, toss in some taco seasoning, in with a cup or so of the leftover rice, then put in like 6 egg whites and one or two whole eggs. Mix it all together and make little egg/rice pancakes...then top em of with some salsa....(i have tried omitting all the egg yolks, but if you do they just fall apart. so you need at least one).

has anyone tried cooked eggwhites in a blender as part of a shake?
coz i know alot of people crack raw egg whites into shakes, but the protein has more bio availability when cooked?

it probs wouldnt blend to well, i think. and may taste abit odd?

I've been using fresh garlic and sun dried tomatoes lately.

    Try these.

Another good idea that I usually do if I have some time is make them meringue style, just whisk them really well with an electric mixer until the whites are really frothy then add some cream of tartar, vanilla, few drops of lemon, splenda and let it bake for 15-20 minutes!

Now that's a healthy freakin treat!!!!

My favorite is 6 egg whites whisked together with 1/2 c. oat flour, 2 Tbsp. of ground flax , i pack of Splenda and a bunch of cinnamon. Cook like a pancake, spray some fake butter and some sugar free syrup and off you go! Or if life is really good, add some blueberries to the batter or slice a banana on top! Yum!

i just crack the egg and drink the egg whites, been doin it for 6 years. its fast and easy. plus i've had no problems, no salmonella no nothing. you don't have to worry about salmonella unless you keep the egg in the heat.
