Education, training, benefits after you get out, travel, meeting new people, a way out of a bad situation, shooting cool weapons and blowing up shit in training, etc...but at the very core you must have a love for the country you serve to the point of dying for that country. You have to be willing to follow orders you may not agree with. Your new brothers will be those in your unit. You will come to depend on them, and they you, like you cannot imagine now. You will become closer than brothers...its something that really cannot be explained, you have to experience it.

Yes stewie I realize you hate Israel, and Jews...but I don't hate you, Iran, Syria, etc...or muslims...I am an equal opportunity hater...I hate, and will destroy, any, regardless of race, color, creed, relilgion, etc..that wishes me or mine harm....I'm simple like that. So I can talk with you all night long, and enjoy it, if the propaganda is left out of it and the generalized statements.
