    Gear and Back Pain

    Hey bros,

My lower back is killing me. Right down between my hips. Started shortly after a set of deads and went away for weeks. Then came back seemingly without cause about 3 weeks ago (had not been doing deads). I did a search for low back pain for some treatments and one of the recurring comments was that there may be some co-relation between low back pain and gear.

I am on Test and Eq right now, about 9 weeks in, and dosing is 600mg Test and 400mg Eq per week. It was my understanding that orals were associated with painful back pumps due to kidney load, but I am not on any orals. Has anyone else experienced back pain related to gear?

I am taking Milk Thistle daily and eating as cleanly as I can and keeping calories high. I am making crazy gains (bench is up 35 pounds in 9 weeks) and I have gained about 15 solid pounds so far.

I am seeing a chiro / ART and going for a second visit tomorrow AM.

Any comments or advise is appreciated...it is getting worse and it is starting to affect my training a little.

    Thanks,

    BigJ

sounds to me your strength and muscle mass went up faster than your joints/tendon's ability to catch up (usually causing cramps, swelling, inflammation, etc..)... I would definitely scale down the weights a notch or at least maintain it for a few weeks without increasing poundage to give time for your lower back to catch up. Also, do a few warm up sets so there's more blood circulation to the area and less shock on the muscle.

Awesome guys, thanks for the advice. I was thinking the same thing Insane - my forearms ache after chest and arms as well - probably from increased poundage so quickly and bones, etc. trying to cope.

Brent_G: thanks for the reminder about a**ominals. I probably need to do more work on them and will start as soon as I can without excessive pain - the thought of crunching right now makes me cringe as my back is really hurting.

Thanks for the input. I was concerned that someone was going to chime in with more ominous ideas.

Trigger point therapy will also help a lot in releasing those muscles.

Stating an opinion, or in this case a random guess, as a fact can be dangerous.
