take creatine with some sort of sports drink. Creatine transported is aided by the ingestion of sugar. I take just strait monohydrate creatine, cheap and works well.

yeah even fruit juice, just something that will spike insulin. Creatine uses the same types of transport proteins that glucose uses to get into muscle cells.
Too much simple sugar in those drinks will break down the creatine too much and will be useless. Isntead of 8 oz of a fruit drink (as serving size) cut it in half. Sport drink same thing, cut those bottles in half and ive found it works very well versus the whole thing. Also some juices like orange juice are too acidic and break down the creatine as well.

Well I thought I read somehwere that too much sugar will neutralize the creatine and turn it into the waste product creatinine but i did some searching and only thing i found so far was taking it with any acidic juices (orange, grapefruit, etc...) will neutralize the creatine and turn it into creatinine. Ill keep looking tho. But besides too much sugar isnt good for you anyways![]()

Its recommend now taking it with dextrose or maltodextrose, plus what would be the difference of taking creatine with water or with fruit juice. The acid in the stomach has a pH between 1-2, while fruit juice has a pH of about 3.5, which means that the stomach acid is about 50 times more concentrated than that of the fruit juice. It stands to reason that you would lose creatine anyway, taking it with fruit juice would be more beneficial than taking it with water alone since it will spike insulin and cause a greater amount that is absorbed by the transported into the cells.
