What is so bad about baked beans? Just the sugar content? They are very low in fat, and an exellent source of carbs and fiber...plus, they taste good! In one serving (which would be about 30 carbs) there is 12g sugar. Is that much sugar really bad, or does that seem acceptable?

really depends what your goals are. you will probably be ok with the sugar. just realize their are better choices.
