On another forum - a bodybuilder/mentor mentioned that your body does not see foods as chicken vs. steak, but only in the form of pro/carbs/fats/fiber.
Also, he said that he never eats the same foods everyday - just fulfills his macro goals per meal & emphasized that he gets in 50-60g fiber per day.
That caused me to review my diet - and I noticed that 1cup broccoli only yields 2g fiber - so I only get in 8g fiber from my 'fibrous' veggies - then my oats yield 4g, so I know I'm getting 12g. Now, 2oz brown rice yields 1g fiber, so I'm at 13g. Then 18oz of sweet potato a day to yield about 3g, totaling at 16g.
WOW - 34-44 more to go!
So, I asked an educated friend of mine who works in a GNC if I should take a supplement or just increase my veggies (but I feel I already eat a sh!tload and go through bags of frozen broccoli like crazy!). He said I would be fine with 30g of fiber a day & to look into other vegetables as far as fiber ratings, such as spinach leaves.
Anybody, any intake on 'high fiber' foods?
