Week 1: 1.5IU eod
Week 2: 1.5IU 5/2
Week 3: 2.5IU 5/2
Week 4: 3.5IU 5/2
I have two doses left in week 4, I plan to be at 4.5IU 5/2 week 5, and 5.0IU 5/2 weeks 6 - 36.
I'm a "noobie" but I've been doing a bit of research. Unfortunately, most of the info I can find that relates to my specific situation comes from forum anecdotes. A wise man once said that the plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence".
Here are some hypothesis I've come up with based on my "forum research".
-I believe that part of the reason people get pain at the injection site early on is because many might be new at sticking themselves. Recently I mirrored a 1.75IU dose on either side of my navel. The first time I stuck myself the pin kinda slipped and rotated in my hand after it was in my skin. That side is more sore. Also, these really thin pins that people like me who are new to injecting might be inclined to get seem to get dull real quick. At lower doses you may use the same pin 5 times or more, not counting reconstituting.
-The inflammatory response seems to flare up and go away. I know the normal answer for "welts" is "192aa", but I don't really believe it. Every now and then someone chimes in that they got welts from a brand that can only be 191aa, and how many men on generics do you think there are for every one on name-brand on these forums? Based on that it seems that some men just seem to welt up, and it seems to go away. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we don't see many posts of people still welting in weeks 12-36.
-Speaking of noobs who buy tiny pins: While I get pain at any injection site at this point, it feels more like muscular pain when I go into my hip or calf, and more like epidural pain when I go into my abdomen. Could it be that I'm going to low in the former cases while I'm not going deep enough in the latter case? I pinched the skin on my hip this week for my first 3.5IU dose and I got no pain or inflammation. Maybe I got the distance right? I'm using 29ga 0.5in pins.
Anyway, these are just some thoughts I have at this point. I'm thinking of turning this into a log for posterity. Any thoughts are appreciated.
