    HIIT and dieting

So I just have a question when doing HIIT, say in the morning before any meals, how do you know how many calories you are burning? Wouldn't you nee to know in order to incorporate that into your diet plan so you don't burn too many? Muscle is very precious, I do not want to lose any :P

Why not do HIIT guys.... We have lost of fat loss tools and doing a mixture of cardio is going to benefit us mentally as well as physically

OP.... Don't stress about numbers.... Just eat ur meals, do ur cardio and make progress... Write it all down so u know what u had to do to achieve what you achieved.... Then assess, adjust or continue

becasue am HiIT in a fasted state means you will eventually have a low blood sugar crash and risk coma...

HIIT training, when i train at this level i never allow my heart rate to drop below 135..very effective at burning glycogen, and then fat stores.. in a fasted state you have about 20 minutes of stored energy before you risk a sugar crash.. thus limiting the amount of resistance training you can do..

so if building additional muscle is the goal.. HIIt in a fasted state is not the ideal..

this is good info spy. Im intersted in - never allow my heart rate to drop below 135..very effective at burning glycogen, and then fat stores.. are you saying you wouldnt do this for longer than 20mins if fasted? sorry if sounds like a dumb question. i like the sound of burning glycogyn and fat stores.

Spy is referring to keeping the heart rate high (above 135 for him).... With a high heart rate your going to burning lots of glycogen....

As far as the 20 min sugar crash he is referring to.... I don't understand exactly what he is saying..... However, stored glycogen stores are going to be burned at a rate determined by how hard you are working... So I suspect the 20min statement is a guideline on him behalf...

How does HIIT make you lose muscle.. sprinting causes the most fat burn due to the rapid increase in heart rate...
anyone have any scientific evidence or at least personal experience?

. I have been incorporating HIIT into my routine for a while and I don't believe I lost any muscle. Sprints are great, increase natural test, also sled pulls and plyo are great tools. You need to do different levels of cardio, I mix 5k runs eod with HIIT. It does what I want it to, I gained lbm.
