    Arimidex causing hair loss?

So I've been on .25mg arimidex once a week to keep estrogen in check (never used steroids before, i just had naturally lower test/higher estrogen)

With that aside, the main point is I've noticed some hair loss in my temple region (corner recession) bringing me to about a norwood 1.5 to norwood 2. Last time I checked my DHT was 40 on a scale of 30-85 but is it possible it continued to go up to higher levels? My theory is that if testosterone is not converting as much into estrogen, it will start instead converting more to DHT which would cause hair loss. It's weird though because I'm taking such a small dose (.25 a week) I wouldn't think it would be this potent.

Any input on this? 20 years old

What compounds are you using? Can you list your cycle and doses.

Estrogen levels can contribute to hair loss but generally DHT is a bigger threat.

That's the thing, I've never used anything before. This was just to combat naturally low T and naturally high estrogen. I thought DHT was the only thing that mattered with hair loss? If anything higher estrogen is better for hair, or is that wrong?

When was your last blood work?

    Vitamin D (30-100) - 68

    Testosterone Total (240-1100) - 702

    Estrogen (11-40.0) - 26.2

    Free Testosterone (0.95-4.3) - 2.62

    FSH (1.6-11) - 3.8

    LH (1.3-7.2) - 3.8

    Prolactin (0-18) - 7.4

    Cortisol (4-27) - 25.3

    SHBG (13-71) - 25

    DHT (30-85) - 40

    Growth Hormone Level (IGF-I) (281-510) - 291

    IGF Binding Protein 3 (2-4.2) - 2.9

Seems good actually. This was months ago though. DHT probably went up since then I guess

Estrogens are important for many functions. In particular, estrogens modulate the activity of keratinocytes, fibroblasts, melanocytes, hair follicles, sebaceous gland function, wound healing and immune system function. A reduction or loss of estrogen decreases skin elasticity, reduced skin and follicle vascularity, causes hair loss as impairs wound healing. Aromatase inhibitor use is also associated with an increased risk for hair loss and hair thinning.

So if I just stop taking the .25mg once a week I should be fine? I feel like even that is a pretty small amount, but I guess it's more potent than I thought

Well your estrogen was mid-range before. It would be informative to know where it is at now with the Arimidex in use. The dose you're using is low and the half life of Arimidex is about 50 hours. It may be dropping your estrogen to low ranges and every male is different. Some function best with low-normal ranges; others function better with high-normal ranges of estrogen.

I see two options for you:
    1. Get blood work done and see were your levels are at first.
    2. Stop the Arimidex and see if your hair stops falling out.

Was the Arimidex self-prescribed or directed by your physician?
