The fact that the women sought private council before charges were even filed tells me she's on the hunt for cash

It's all about the bling bling for her.

Poor guy...I have heard that he's totally stand up. Even a bunch of NBA players are backing him...that's big.

i wouldn't be too worried about it if i were him.. he's got more cash then he knows what to do with and i bet this thing gets settled out of court anyway. this type of thing for an athlete (especially one of his caliber) is like a parking ticket for the rest of us

This is a criminal case, not a civil case. (There will probably be a civil case as well, and then she'll get her money. That's why she filed criminal charges against him. It makes her civil case hold more weight if he is convicted of a felony) You can't buy your way out of a criminal case (unless you count spending a shitload of cash on an attorney, "buying" your way out). None-the-less, he probably won't spend any time in the clink.

I also just heard on the radio here at work that his punishment will vary from 4yrs-life prison time or 20-life probation time....depending on the judges ruleing

The Butcher is right on this one....it is a CRIMINAL case which means no money for her.

The DA is on her side which means a whole lot. DAs are very pickey about rape cases because they are often times hard to prove and it is hard to provide evidence. However, the DA must have some strong evidance to carry on. I know of some physical evidence that they have that I won't go into because it makes me feel sick just to think about it.

I would not be so sure of that Pheedno. This is a personal crime, not a car thef.

Besides, no matter what the verdict, he cheated on his wife and child.....he is an ass in my opinion.

-On a side note im trying to find pictures of this alleged "victim" on the net. supposedly there are various pictures of the "pill head" herself but i cant seem to find them anywhere. i want to see if she was hot or not because if he got himself in all this shit for someone who isnt as good looking as Vanessa (his wife) i'll lose some respect for the guy.

Turns out it wasn't even her. They had the same first name, one was in cheerleading and the other was in dance. Someone confused the dance chick with the cheerleading chick.

To the people who feel he's innocent, would you feel the same if he was a nobody not playing for the NBA? I really haven't been following the case at all, I have no idea whether he's innocent or guilty and the only people who really know are Kobe and her so I won't pass judgement. I'd just hate to see this end up OJ part 2.

I feel for the dude but plain and simple he got himself in the mess. If I was a pro or something I think I'd hide a camera in every hotel room I checked into. If nothing ever happened from the incounter I'd burn the tape otherwise I wouldn't say a word and burn the hell out of the DA at the last minute...........then counter sue with a civil.

If your a pro, hell even if your not, for Christ sake cover your freakin a$$.
