In addition, if you already have protein powder for a shake, what do you need raw eggs for???

    Good website on eggs...

I think the point is eating raw eggs, even the whites, puts you at a higher risk for salmonella poisoning...a lot of people eat raw eggs w/ no adverse effects, but I don't take the chance...JMHO.

If you want the egg whites in your shake, I hear pasteurized ones are okay to drink. For some reason, the texture alone of that stuff is cause enough for me not to drink it. Too slimy for my taste, but it's safer than eggs or egg whites that are not pasteurized for sure.

If you are old enough to remember Orange Julius, that;s what they were using. Think it was an OJ/egg/ice combo. Was the rage many years back. Now with higher regognition of the undesirable effect of too many carbs, I dont think it would fly. I haven't seen any around in a few years. Gone the way of the Automat and Nedik's.
