Hey MS I got a tough client.
She is
5-1ish
290lbs
really really high bf obviously
Plantar fasciitis is her only injury. No weight bearing exercise for now.
I got her diet in check. I mean I literally went to her house and threw everything away and went with her to the grocery store and bought new foods. Her diet was never as bad as her weight would say it is. Here comes the tricky part...
She used to have an eating disorder, anorexia, and now the doctors say her thyroid is back to normal. But she cannot lose weight. I mean cannot lose even a pound. I have played around with all kinds of calories and short of going keto (discussed later) I can't get her weight to budge. I mean I can't starve her with a super low cal diet cuz she won't do that, but seriously we have played around with cal ranges from 1,000-2,000 and nothing. Now I read a study a long time ago that was about people who went through famines and how they are overly susceptible to obesity, and if a female was pregnant in a famine their child was also prone to obesity. The article said something about a marker or something getting turned on, much like a switch I guess, and it forced them to adapt. Now I suspect that this is the problem with her too. I am also hearing seriously weird reports (not my clients but I know of others) about people who do KETO diets without re-feeds having this same effect. Now is there anyway you can think to offset this crazy metabolism issue?
My client has heart palpitations when thyroid drugs or iodine is supplemented btw.
