Mix the dextrose with your whey. Gatorade can work in a pinch, but dextrose is best.

IMO PWO nutrition shouldn't change very much while cutting. If anything changes the amounts of macronutrients will change i.e (less carbs/protein). Hope this helps..

thanx bro but based on what u said before should i even bother with spiking my insulin or should i keep it as low as possible since this is a cutting phase, and just eat regular low glycemic carbs .

Yes, you need carb replenishment DIRECTLY after your weight workout(dextrose). No matter what the goal whether it be bulking or cutting. The only thing that might change between cutting and bulking is the amount of carbohydrates or protein. Your PWO meal is where it is best to utilize a low glycemic carb with a lean protein.

Bro, go to google and look up the glycemic index. Try to do the research yourself, then ask questions.

To answer your question, they are both high GI. However, as bad man stated EARLIER, dextrose is a better choice.

I think what Farmer is saying is that you want to eat lean protein and a low GI carb about an hour or so after your workout. I call this my PPWO meal (post-post-workout).

So, to review, mix dextrose with whey and drink it immediately after working out (PWO). Wait an hour and then have some chicken and brown rice (PPWO).

I might have been jumping the gun. Thanks to badman for summarizing it up. The PWO shake directly after the workout is your high GI/whey shake. Then an hour or so later is your solid food meal with complex carbs and lean protein. Dextrose is your best high GI source. For the PWO solid food meal yams are a good choice, so is brown rice, lentils...the list goes on and on. Hopefully this clears it up.
