Hemoglobin,,,Hematocrit???Help

I just got my blood work back ,,and my hemoglobin came in at 17.7 and my hematocrit was at 58. My prospective employer will not hire me until im in the normal parameters,, so how can I lower it? Please help!!!!

Drink more water and donate plasma, then get it rechecked. What are you using?

LMAO.....That's a high azz hematocrit. Wish it was mine. What drugs are you using? do you know why it is so high? Do you live @ altitude?

I was on enanthate,,a 1000mg's per week...Now for the past 2 1/2 months--nothing.

It's clearly very high....is it affecting your bp?

Although I don't doubt the test alone could have done that, it's not a problem....unless it's a problem. If it isn't causing elevated bp, then it's not a huge issue in my book. however, the employer (I'd assume their ins) doesn't know the cause and can only assume that there is a problem somewhere. To us, knowing the full story, it's easily explainable and not so surprising.

No, I haven't done eq or anything else lately. The job position deals w/ top level clearance,,and it's not a commercial business or corporation. They check EVERYTHING,,poly,drugs,bp,cholest. etc.
Anyway, they say the high average for hemo is 17.3 and hematocrit is 82,,so what exactly is the down side for it being this high ie: side effects

Well, a level that high is indicative of some problem.....it, in and of itself, isn't necessarily the problem....but it's indicative of a problem somewhere. they don't know you used AAS.....boom, there's the answer, but without that knowledge, they have to assume there is actually a problem somewhere.

That 82 has to be a typo, or they are full of chit. If your crit was 82 your blood would be sludge

I didn't catch that...he said 58 earlier.
The thing is...if you're hemoglobin is only high normal and your hematocrit is that high, it's not all due to increased RBCs, so there may be more to the story....nothing to get worried about yet. What are they looking at now? I assume they're doing some follow ups.

im confused here if ur hemoglobin is 17.7 shouldnt u be feeling like u are dead? i had a hemoglobin of 65 and i was passing out every second i could get (even while my breakfast was being made) i thought hemoglobin was supposed to be around 120-160 .....maybe they measure it differently in the states compared to canada.

Hb is measured in g/dL in the US and mM in other countries, but either way, the values are somewhat similar....12-18g/dL and 7.5-11mM.

You also have to put your hematocrit % in context of the machine's normals. some machines have normals in the low 60%...most high normals are ~52-53% though.
