let it sit for a while before opening it. When you do decide to open it, I'd suggest not doing it inside your house. Take the package with you, open it and toss the boz as quick as you can.

Couldn't have said it better myslef. I remember reading in a magazine some time ago that cops are putting motion detectors inside the package to tell when you open the box when you open the box. This is why I said take it with you somewhere public, open the box, them toss it in the garbage. Of course you'd want to remove the address stickers before hand.

In this day and age where the government would rather bust good, hard working people, instead of busting those who pose a physical threat to the country, you can never be too sure.

I bet I know who your source was...

I'd have to say it they had a warrant and it was a CD they done would
have be crashing thru your door, but I don't think I'd use that same
    address again anytime soon...

    Consider yourself lucky...

why have anything shipped to your house address anyway. International or domestic, I've never had one single package shipped to my address, and never will. If you apply yourself and think, you too can find a way around this...

That's not how it works... They ask to have it signed for, so there's proof
of someone accepting it as goods belonging to you and then they serve the warrant and come on in and the fun begins...

Unless it was improper packaging, then it has nothing else to do with his source. Some packages get busted, some don't. It's the price we pay for the game we play. Aside from that, he was looking for advice on what to do about his package, not his source.

believe he needs to check the source...he will be surprised the source would know the tracking numbers on the package if he resended the package?.. trust me on this one. if the source did not resend you my have a problem!

Doesn't matter who signed for it, it was accepted which means they can
serve the warrant if they had one and search his house, computer, etc...
same as if someone's wife would have signed for it, they can still come
right in after serving the warrant, doesn't matter he didn't sign for it...

They would not let him keep the package in his house like that. It would really screw up the chain of custody, which they need in court. Otherwise, if it sat in his house, a lawyer could make a thousand speculations on the package being out of his hands and someone planting something in it. The package would go from the deliverer's hands, to the recievers hands, and then he'd be in handcuffs immediately. The motion detectors in the packages sounds a little bit too hollywood for me, and would cause a huge headache in a real court case.

Exactly my thoughts...I know who the source was too lol....I would recommend just using a different address in the future. Your source will take care of things man dont worry....and i would doubt that will happen again in the future. Good luck man

So technically, they could both get charged, right? If not, then wouldn't it be the person who signed for it get charged unless the other person(s) takes full responsibility?

No, the person who signed for it isn't liable. He's only signing to verify that the package reached its destination. The only person liable is the person its addressed to.

They are usually just going to be interested in the person that
purchased them and they are addressed too... Unless there's more
to the story, like someone was receiving packages for someone else,
then technically the receiver of course could be looking at some charges
if that could be proved even if they were addressed to someone else...

if it was usps express maybe the sig was not waived and even sometimes when it is they will try to get you to sign anyway. you should of used a diff addy anyway but too late now. as the others said you are lucky. just get a diff addy and never sign for anything never
