I hear ya bro. Surgery should be the last resort. Too many people out there who are worse off than before the surgery. Orthopedic surgeons get paid to do surgery. It's like taking your car into a shop - of course they'll find something wrong - that's how they get paid!
Now that being said, there certainly are times where one needs surgery - I did after my first knee blowout and fortunately I had a real pro do it. Unfortunately there is no surgery that can be done to make my knee better after the last crash. Now it's just putting up with a slowly eroding joint.
The shoulder is pretty tricky to work on. No other joint in our body can do as much as the shoulder.
A couple things that have helped quite a bit was a really good physical therapist and glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM.
If you can strengthen all the little muscles, they will help support the joint, where the injured parts can't. That's where the PT has helped a lot. Essentially you can train muscles to take over for damaged ligaments. I think gear is helpful there too since one is strengthening muscles - it's sure helped with my knee!![]()
The glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM helps a lot too but it takes about a month to really kick in.
Deca does help a bit, but not as much for me as perhaps for others.
good luck bro!
