    Hoss' pics--A preview before tonights =P

    Havent checked my weight in the last month or two, but i'm in the 170's, still lean.. Here's a little preview of a back dub--More tonight in the gym

    Age: 18
    5'7
    170 ish
    dunno bf%, pics later tonight will tell.

    Measurements:
    Arms: 15 inches
    Waist: 30
    Chest: 43
    Quads: 23
    Calves: a hair under 16.

    I've been doing it for three years now so it was pretty damned easy, i'm used to it

    Look good for 18. FYI, when I turned 18 I was 155. When I turned 19, I was 205 natty so don't touch the "stuff" until the time is right.

    Eh, i'm gonna post what I looked like three years ago when I first joined this board.....i'll be ready for the dark side before long. A year or two.

    I know but I wanna do the lightweight division this year. If I hit up a lil test I can get to 200 and then diet down for nationals.

    You have to QUALIFY for the nationals first, don't get ahead of yourself and use a big event like that for an excuse. Who is to say you will even qualify?? Not saying you can't, but there are steps to the entire process.

    Honestly, you are no where NEAR ready for gear, not even in two years.

    Indeed you do. First place in an NPC national qualifier, and another first place OR second place in that same division in another NPC national qualifier.

    You don't just "show up" at the nationals.

    This quality fucking sucks but it's all I could get tonight--too many people in the gym for me to strip down to my boxers and have my partner get poses. I'd feel embarassed, plus i'd blind everyone

    I just used the mirror in the bathroom, only got one but I promise i'll have more soon with better quality.

    Bro, I know you're 18 and therefore not a good listener, but you're not close to ready. You've got so much natural potential left AND so far from being in competition shape, why the rush? It's a marathon, not a sprint. Just my .02

    Fuck that--I know some guys who will go do their hair inbetween sets at the country club gyms Mine stays in place due to that ICE hairgel shit. I swear to God I could get hit by a hurricane and it would stay in place with just a little bit of that stuff lol

    i don't really like to point out things b/c i'm not way near perfect.....but....your chest looks really underdeveloped in that pic in comparision to the rest of your body. What is your weekly schedule look like? Your traps are huge though.
    It really looks like someone took a bigger person and pasted a smaller chest on them....over all though for 18 that looks good...i didn't look like that at 18, i didn't lift either but none the less. workout schedule and legs pics .....

    Well you are right--those ARE at different time periods. One was this afternoon, one was this evening

    If it becomes a complication, you can ask anybody on muscle sci who knows me well--those are both of me.

    My chest seriously has always been a HUGE weak point, it sucks ass. It's actually grown SOME since I was 160, (should I post the pic to show the improvement?)

    Sunday: Quads
    4 sets squats, 15-20 reps (i havent been able to squat for almost a month due to a groin injury but im almost better )

    4 sets incline legpress

    4 sets lunges

    3 sets leg extensions, i hold these as long as i can and I turn my legs outward at the top to put emphasis on the inner quads

    Monday: Chest
    4 sets incline bench press
    3-4sets flat dumbell press
    3-4sets seated chest press
    3-4sets incline flys

    Tues: Back

    3 sets lat pulldowns//strip weight after 3rd set, pump em out til failure
    3 sets bent over barbell rows
    3 sets reverse grip bent over rows
    3 sets t-bar rows
    3 sets deadlifts

    Wed: Shoulders/traps/calves
    4 sets military press
    3 sets dumbell laterals
    3 sets bent over laterals
    3 sets rear delt machine

    Traps:
    4-6 sets (shrugs and /or dumbell shrugs, whichever i prefer that night)

    Calves:
    4 sets standing calf raises, 8-12 reps. 30 second rest between each set. Rock up and down upon balls of the feet inbetween sets...keeps stress on em

    4 sets seated calf raises, 8-12 reps...same method of keeping stress on them inbetween sets

    Thursday: Biceps/Triceps

    Triceps:
    3 sets skull crushers (machine)--strip weight and do a dropset
    3 sets tricep pushdowns--dropset
    3 sets rope pulldowns
    3 sets cable pulldowns

    Biceps:
    Run the rack once...6 reps...drop weight, and keep going for 36 reps.

    dropset 21's--God I hate these.

    Buddy curls, or 4 sets heavy barbell curls for 8-12 reps.
    12 sets total

    Guns are starting to fall behind...any ideas to get them caught up?


    Friday: rest
    Saturday: rest.

    You look very good for 18, (haven't seen your legs yet, so I may take that comment back) BUT you are nowhere near being at the level of kids who compete at national level. Look at a few pics of these guys and then compare them to yours. Take it slow and natural for a few more years, then stepup on stage. Good work by the way.

    I agree, their waists look like they are two different sizes.
    My mom saw them yesterday too and noticed a difference. Shes like when was that taken and when was the other taken? I said THE SAME DAY!!! lol

    Doesnt look that way to me. I think all of us have had to deal with bad lighting making the chest look flat but its obvious to me this kid has a lot going on for him for being 18. I bet most of us did not look that good at that age. Lay off the shooting him down stuff... sure he is not ready for competition but he should be encouraged.

    I don't think critiquing him is critical at all. You want us to all kiss his ass and tell him how great he is? I'm sure he'd rather have us tell him what needs work on in another person's eyes. Am I right Hoss? If not its all from here on out!

    Totally right--I need to know weakpoints. I'll get some leg shots up tonight, but dont be too hard on me because they've probably lost almost an inch since my injury a month ago, but NO worries--i'll be back in a couple weeks killing myself on quads
