Just pop them in your neighbour's garbage on the way past in the morning!!
But make sure the needle is bent back on itself and returned to the plastic cover!
My GF is a nurse, and she see's alot of people put them in a protien tub, and duct tape it shut... then drop it off at the hospital. Very responsible way of doing it. When I run my cycle, that's what I'm going to do.
I used an empty bottle of laundry detergent, that I keep under my sink.
it's nice and thick plastic and I figure no one is going to go in it, and if they do you can't see down in there anyways.
Something to think about if you're trying to be a little descrete about things maybe.
Biohazard material is autclaved at extreme temperatures and pressures, inactivating any organisms present (even prions) - its then taken away and buries in specific land fill sites
