I think your experience argues for 2 things:
1) Moderation in both duration and dose
2) Blood tests at the beginning and end of each cycle.
Enlarged prostate is pretty common, not that early but I know plenty of people in their early 40's that have never touched roids and have that issue.
You never know what difficulties lie ahead, and playing this steroid game just brings them on sooner. I try to stick to one cycle per year with blood work at the start and end, but I may be instigating tumors, or heart problems to come on sooner. Ya never know.
Then I have seen people in their early 50's who never used drugs in their life have pancreatic cancer diagnosed and die in less than a year. I have a friend that died from a combination of heart disease and sleep apnia (sp?) at 31, and another that had a mild stroke at 32 (neither used drugs or smoked) .
