    High iron content in blood??

I got my blood results back and everything was normal except for I had really high iron in my blood. Normal values are 50-155 I was at 251. Has anyone had the same thing happen to them or know why this could be high? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
By the way finished deca 400 mg/week 10weeks and test enan 500mgs/week 11weeks 3 months ago. Ran correct pct and got the test to make sure, so all is good but the iron, thanks.

Hey bud your iron should be under 50 .I have a genetic condition call hemochromatosis and my iron got up to 420 at age 29 and my dads was 980 when they found out he had it now he has liver problems. It can cause all kinds of problems i have to have blood take to keep my iron levels down .you should ask your doctor to test you for it cause it is quit common more so if you are of celtic back ground im scotish anyway good luck

Giving blood will lower the count of iron in the blood, ive no idea why it is so high maybe diet is rich in iron or you have some condition, i think your doctor will be best one to advice on this.

Yes. It is a genetic disorder. My father had it and my sister has it. IT you carry two genes for it, you will have the full blown disease. Otherwise the gene is recessive and can be carried. However, carriers like myelf can have slightly elevated Fe levels. Get the genetic test done and you will know for sure.
The way around this is removing blood periodically. The new blood that is manufactured to replace it will take some time to get saturated again.
Don't take this lightly. My father died of leukemia, which probably was not entirely unrelated. The difference being that he did not know he had it nearly as early as my sister does.
Not the end of the world, but it does need to be dealt with.
