I had just had foot surgery a couple of months ago, so I was out of the gym for awhile and needed a new hobby. Man fishing is fun as hell, and makes me feel like a kid again. Anyone here fish? I am no expert, I felt like jumping in the water to catch those little suckers at first, but took some deep breaths and relaxed, and finally caught a monster bass!!!! Great hobby

I only saltwater fish. My boats getting put in the water this month, can't wait. Been looking forward to start the season off with some nice striped bass. Definitely a great past time.

shit all we have in the northwest is mostly trout, rainbow, cutroat, brown. i tend to mostly hit rainbow usually range from 15-23inches nothing to big, i wish i was closer the the ocean that would make my day

I caught a 400lb black marlin in Cabo, Mexico two years ago, I took me a hour to pull that f!cker in, you wanna talk about forearm pumps. I've caught five mixed 100-150lbs, mostly blue marlins, countless yellow fin 10-50lb, a 40lb red snapper, couple of rooster fish 30-50lbs, and many darado. All caught in Cabo over four trips, I love it there. Have a fishing trip planned for Costa Rica at the end of year, can't wait.

Fishing was always boring to me when i was younger because i always wanted to go run around and do more active things.

Now, it's great to go deep sea fishing because you get to spend time with people you know, you're miles away from anywhere.. anticipation of fish.... all of the above. It's just a great relaxing.. "sport" :P
In fact the first fish i ever caught (after a crab from the bottom) was a 5 foot shark. After that i was hooked

Excactly.... I freshwater fish for large and smallmouth bass here in N.Y. There is so much to learn than just going out and fishing. Now I am learning about different lure's, finding the fish, knowing the weather,etc. It is really relaxing plus it makes you think!!

I go to Cabo twice a year once in May and the other in the beginning of November. I prefer November to May, but May is still a good time to go. It really depends on what your looking to go for, check out this link, it show the fishing seasons for all the fish in Cabo.

Bullhead fishing is really big right now... best caught fresh water lakes, early AM or late night. My husband is taking the Lund out around 9pm

It depend on the size of boat you want, but mostly your budget. I travel with three other guys and we've rented 28ft (four person) to 35ft (six person) boats at a cost of $500 to $900 a day for all anglers (that includes everything except live bait).

You are all doing it wrong.... right now is the best crappie fishing time of the year. They come in from the deep to the shallows to spawn. They are the best tasting fresh water fish next to catfish. I think I may go fishing in the A.M. now that I think about it. If you want big fish and still stay fresh water you gotta find someone to take you GAR fishing. I caught one as big as me once. When they get into the shallows you have to use nets and clubs after you reeled them close enough. Personally I find it more exciting than shark fishing at night.

I bass fish when I get the chance, and when I am near the ocean I love to saltwater fish. I caught 30 mahi off the coast of north carolina about 4 yrs ago, it was great!!

A bullhead it a type of catfish, it's much smaller but puts up a good fight just the same - Lake Champlain by VT.

Bass are fun to catch but not the best eating... so if you're doing catch and release it's fine... but for good meals up here you should look into Northern Pike, Salmon and Perch.

I practice catch and release for the most part. I have probably ate may be 3-4 fish that I have personally caught in my life. One was a walleye, perch, chinook salmon, and a bass when I was a little tike. If I eat anything it would be either a perch or a walleye from a fresh catch. Salmon usually has a fishy taste to it, which I do not like.
