What's the best way to sterilize the syringe, and is the best syringe to use for test a 3cc one?

just use a new one every time..they dont cost that much and it will save you the trouble it could cause if u get an infection
throw in garbage, walk away...go into stash grab another..
3cc is best size for our purposes right?
positively buy new... to much risk involved trying to sterilize them...
and 3 cc is fine

nice thanks for the input guys, im only doing quad injections and got a bunch of 1" pins, is that still cool?
yes you will need a 1in pin for quad and delt injections. 1 1/2 for glute injections. 23gaugeOriginally Posted by kesh227
you can use 1" on glute as well
no, use 1 1/2 for glute. 1in for delt and quad.Originally Posted by mkrulic
1 1/2" dont need to be completely inserted which imo is very dangerous. you can use 1 1/2" but its over kill if inserted all the way in.
do as you wish but i'm only telling you from experience. 1 1/2pin will work fine for a glute injection. insert all the way in so it get deep in the muscle. dont forget to asperate.
i like 25g 1in or 5/8 personally
LOL @ 1.5 inch pins being dangerous
I've used 1 inch 25 g pins for injecting into the glutes - allthough this is uncomfortable, i can always find my muscle with the needle and it is completly safe/fine using the 1inch needle
1.5 inch is ABSOLUTLEY NOT dangerous in anyway for glute injections, and it is preferrable
I know everyone is telling you to throw your syringes away. This is because each of these individuals have probably experienced an infection while taking precautions to prevent them. An infection really sucks and after only one of them, you will be included in the group of people above who knows you need a new syringe each time. Sometimes people use a flame to burn the needle. You definately do not want to make a habit of that. I have seen people who when burning the needle left dark residue which transfered to their skin. Each injection they were tatooing a little dot at the injection site because some of the black sh!t came off. If you take a towel and wipe off the black sh!t, you are contaminating the needle again. Like I said, infections are common even when taking precautions and everyone is just looking out for you. Good luck
This is not sound advice.Originally Posted by mkrulic
I used to think this also, but now I'm better informed.Originally Posted by mkrulic
the needle will not break off, if that's what you're worried about.
If you're worried about going too deep, then you must not realize how thick a glute is. My doctor gave me a cortizone shot in the ass with a 1.5" when I was 12.
I've used 1.5's for quads also, but I would not advise everyone to do so.
There is a reason the majority of the experienced members always preach to use 1" on quads, delts, etc.. and 1.5" on glutes.

btw,
dipping the syringe tip in rubbing alchohal is your best bet in sanatizing it - but re-using needles is stupid
If i accidently TOUCH the needle tip, i throw it away,
If i start the injection process and for whatever reason pull away, I throw the needle away and get a new one
IM injections are a medical procedure, think of it as such - and use the same professionalism that is expected of you

Ypu Can Reuse The Syringe But Not The Needle...
bro the ONLY way to truely sterilize it is to autoclave it.. and unless u have one of those and then are in a sterile room w/ sterile wrappers to cover the syringe/pin i suggest you just dish out another 9 CENTS to buy another fvcking syringe k?
this thread makes me hurt from just the thought of doing such a stupid action.
No you shouldn't.......... bacteria will grow inside the syringe over time....... not the brightes idea.Originally Posted by eberasain

reuse is stupid. They are to cheap to be a concern
Just buy a new one. Don't even think abvout reusing.
