Sharing info on thigh injections: Went to the doc

I am not sure if anyone has had this problem before but I thought I would share just in case...it may help others.

About 8 days ago I injected Primo (ugl), 2 and 1/2 CCs. It was my first thigh injection. Everything was sterile, took a shower to get it warm, injected, took my time pushing the compound in, and then sterilized the spot. The next day I was so sore it was difficult to walk. The following 7 days was the same. The pain was bad but not worse than the first day. I was limping for a week.

There was no bruising, no swelling, no redness or discoloration, no warmth at the site. I was not having a fever or chills so there was no infection. I just had very sore quads. It felt like someone hit my quads with a bat.

Finally on the 8th day I went to the doctor. He was cool with the story (Israeli doctors have bigger and better things to worry about ). He checked me thoroughly and concluded that I either hit or nicked a blood vessel. He said this can cause inner swelling and the soreness.

I know some of you here have experienced pain with injects before...quads can be the worst. He said that using a heating pad 3-4 times a day and Advil will cure it; just takes time.

I hope this helps. It just shows that the pain is not always from the compound (like prop) or an infection. There are many things that can go wrong. Be careful and remember to take every inject seriously. AIZ

On a side note: for first time thigh injects, I don't recommend 2 and 1/2 CCs. Take it slowly

Quad injections always hurt the following days. I only use quads, delts and gluts and quads are by far the most painful. I've only ever used Test Enan, Iranian and Schering, but both have hurt my quads to limping. I think its just the muscle site.

quads are my favorite I don't have to bend or stretch to get to the spot, they are the most simple imo.

AIZ, I'm assuming you've done another injection since the painful one, right? How did that one go?

Yes, I've had another since and it was fine. 2nd one in the glutes...no problem.

Nice post AIZ. There are always threads on here about painful injection sites. This should help some of the new guys.

I am more often than not leaving out the quads in my rotation anymore just because it seems that any time that I have bad reactions to injections it is always in my quads. Plenty of other sites to hit so I figure why even chance the hassle.

Inflamed vein, that can also cause a blood clot, that can then in turn move to other places in your body ...... thats not a good place for something like that to happen.

i actually shot my quad the other day , got the normal pain , i never get limping pain though but its bad enough were u can feel it. The thing that got me nervous was when i pulled the pin out and set it down on my table there was a drop of blood at the very tip of the needle. Im sure i didnt hit a vien becuase i aspirated. Does anyone have any idea what that can be?
I was figuring it was just from breaking the skin but wasnt sure , if anyone has any info on this id appriciate it.
    thanks

I just don't see how you can possibly aspirate a needle while holding it steady in a glute. I am afraid to even try it.

The more injections you do, you will realize that a spot of blood is nothing, wait till you pull the pin out and blood actually almost shoots out and runs down your leg. Nothing to worry about, it happens from time to time when you knick a vein going through.

...try holding the syringe in one hand like a dagger (point facing down). Then push the needle in and use your thumbnail to get under the plunger lip to aspirate. I do this all the time - works just fine! If you need practice, use a used syringe. Like any skill, there is a learning curve.

I use a similar technique when aspirating. Gets a little bit harder when you got three cc's in there, but still doable.

i aspirate in the glute....pain in the ass tho ( literally ) lol. when i aspirate i tend to not hold the needle as steady as i should be while its in which can cause some extra pain but its not too bad. =)

I already posted a thread on this, but try rigging it with a keyring first. The less juice in the syringe, the easier it is.

Funny, I'm in my 3rd week of 500mg/ew Test E cycle, done every shot in quads and haven't yet had a problem (Knock on wood). I use 23g/1.5 in pins, the key is to go slow, make sure the leg is completely relaxed, and if something feels akward, change the angle.

I use to love them for that reason. But over the last year or so they seem to be a real pain to avoid bleeding, hitting blood vessel or general discomfort... I find myself once again - prefering glutes as the favorite site...

I just did my first test e today in the thigh (seemed easiest to reach). I was amazed that I could not feel the pin enter at all. In fact, other than the feeling of the t entering during the injection, there was no sensation - makes me think that all those nurses really may be sadists after all <G>. Tried to aspirate, nothing much happening, finished the injection (1cc 200mg/cc). Used a 1.5" 23g. Things seemed about right with the pin about .75-1" in, though as I injected I noticed the pin slid in quit a bit more, almost to the cap. Makes me think that I would not tell much by aspirating anyway, since the injection site effectively changed during the injection.

Some deep muscle soreness now, much less than from a set of squats <G>, I assume it is from having a milliliter of oil pumped into the tissue.

Based on my experience so far, I had assumed that I would continue with the quad site, but reading this thread I am not so sure.

I have read injection instructions here and elsewhere, including searching threads, but I have not found any with anyone really giving direct advice on hitting the glutes (pictures of "the spot" are nice, but since I can't see it, how do they help?). As I understand a glute injection, I would not be able to see the site, the pin, or if any blood was drawn in the aspiration check so how do folks really do it?

My first quad injections killed. I've read so many people on this site say the same thing. After that it's been a cake walk. It gets much less painful. Sounds weird, but definately true with me. I alternate delts, quads, glutes, but quads are my fav.

I found that the first 2 or 3 injections of a cycle in the quads are painfull but after that no problems.
