    Jumping right in eh?

Those are some serious machines. If you're new to bikes definetly take a course. If you do the math the power/weight ratio of those bikes is like driving a car with 1,500 hp, no joke.

Differences are going to be subtle. The R1 is the most balanced and probably street friendly, comfortable, and smooth. The GSXR is the most track oriented bike, maybe a little less comfortable but slightly lighter, more maneuverable. My pick would by the kawasaki. Can you say unicycle. Fastest of the three. In fact, you'll smoke hayabusa's up to 100mph. Just be careful, seriously. Check out www.motorcycle.com for reviews.

I've ridden the Ninja, and it is smaller than the other two in physical size. I found the R1 to be the most comfortable for a daily rider. The GSXR was right in the middle, and the Ninja felt the fastest.

Take them all for test-rides. Since I don't do much highway, I'd pick the ninja.

then buy one and then get a zuki 500 or a 250 ninja or if you must some kind of 600 and learn on it and keep the liter bike in your garage. you are seriously retarded if you think you're going to learn on a 1000cc sportbike and live until your next birthday.

He didnt' say it in the nicest way possible. But he is 1000% right. wiht a 1000cc bike...all it takes is one throttle to hard to have that bike out from under you and you sliding on your back.

Why do you think that? for example a gsxr 750 is about .7-.8
second slower in the quarter mile than a 1000 ... a 600 runs an 11 sec quarter where a 1000 runs a 9.8 so whats the difference? Looks to me like you could die jus as easy on 600 or a 750 as a 1000 . Thats like sayin hey jump off a 50 story building before you jump off a 70 story building cuz ull die if u jump off a 70 story building first.

Maybe ill just not ride outside of my ability regardless of what engine happens to be in the bike.

eh...you new to bikes? He doens't sound like he is... and I am no where near new to em. Don't ya think mebe a lil good of an idea to least listen a lil?

Here's some nice stats for ya...how about 70+% ... that is the percentage of motorcycle accidents that happen within 6 months of getting your first bike. Fun lil fact you learn in motorcycle training class.

If ya don't agree with the too much bike for a newb train of thought...how about... the fiberglass tanks / fenders / accessories are REALLY expensive to repair. Drop that 11k bike on the ground and you will crack somefin...it'll happen regardless how safe you think you are riding. Happens to us all at first. The first time you take a turn in the rain too fast or hit a patch of gravel too fast. Suddenly the time a bike gets in the quarter isn't gonna matter...but the amount of power spinning that wheel is.

i agree with marcus, why not get both i do. i got a 2006 kawasaki zx6r black and that's unreal more than enough power, the zx10r is a real rough bike it leaves alot of black marks around corners. R1 looks unreal. comes down to personal preffernece waht ever you decide you'll be more than happy. trust me

I am surprised you didnt include the CBR1000RR on that list... that'd be my bike of choice in the liter class

you shouldn't buy a 750 for your first sportbike either, and truthfully a 600 isn't the best choice either, but most people opt for one because it's a comprosmise between a true beginner's bike and one that you can never get bored with.

the biggest difference though, isn't found in 1/4mile times and 0-6, but the simple fact that if you're a little sloppy with a more powerful crotch rocket that can be the end of you. wery easy to give a little too much gas around a corner and go down or let out the clutch or too much gas and wheelie out of control.

goddamn fools and your liter bikes...

Buy a 600cc.. the 636 is a decent bike, and even still too much power for a newb..

I love it when you newbies go out and buy these 1000cc sportikes, they usually end up for sale cheap with light damage..

I raced, I ride street, I have an rc51, ive got 200000miles under my belt, and I guarantee, noone needs a gsxr1000 on the street..

Check the ego at the door and get something you'll be able to learn on..

Or, get your 1000... i'll outride ya on a ninja250 in the tight stuff..

may i ask, why the hell? is there really a point to show off? cause your gonna get a 1000 and show off to your buds and when you drop it they're gonna laugh...if i were you id go with the gsxxr 750 its a pretty versitile bike, not to bad to learn on and you can also grow and adapt to the bike, its not slow! if you want fast get the kawasaki zx14

my point was either bike is insane fast and im sure i could "end" myself on either bike quite easily .. i used to ride bikes from about 8 yrs old to about 21 so im no noob however i wouldnt disagree with anyone that im not ready or dont need a 1000

Well no there is a difference with the bikes. After riding my r6 for a year a decided to trade up to a 750 gsxr brand new. Id been riding dirtbikes and other shitty motorcycles all my life. Well heres the thing after riding the 600 the power difference is more than you think. With cold tires I came out of the driveway doing nothing unusual and gave her a little too much gas i guess. Needless to say she went over at about 20mph and did 1300 dollars worth of fairing damage. I only sprained my ankle but think what you want and be careful

Don't listen to that. Two weeks ago I bought my first bike... a 93 honda cbr 900rr. I had never ridden a bike before, not even a dirt bike. I got the hang of it the first week and now i'm smoking my friends who have been ridin for years. get a 1000 for sure and don't listen to anyone. People who wreck just don't respect the power. Unless you're a complete retard on it you will have a blast
