    Soccer is against Islam?

Jihadist site: Soccer is against Islam

UK jihadists attack 'religion of soccer,' warn Muslims against taking part in 'colonial crusader scheme'
    Yaakov Lappin

A British jihadist website has warned Muslims against being drawn in to what they described as "the new religion of soccer."

The Saved Sect website, which calls on Muslims to work to establish an Islamic state in Britain, has attacked "football fever," saying that soccer has "captivated the masses, dedicating their time and effort towards it."

Comparing the allegiance of soccer fans to Islam and jihad, the organization said: "Football is the deen (religion) by which people live their lives by and are willing to die for. Their jihad is to fight against those who are arch rivals against their team. Their da'wah (call, invitation) is to publicize, defend and justify their team, inviting others to support them in this."

"People will spend hundreds and thousands of pounds for this religion of theirs, traveling to other parts of the world in support of their team… showing affection, supporting and caring about… They will jump down the throats of those who so much as even dare to criticize their god rising to defend it at all costs," the Saved Sect website said.

Claiming that soccer plants the seeds of nationalism, and is therefore part of a "colonial crusader scheme" to divide Muslims and cause them to stray from the vision of a unified Islamic identity, the website told readers: "The sad fact of the matter is that many Muslims have fallen for this new religion and they too carry the national flag.

The statement, aimed at calling on British Muslims to disassociate themselves with the World Cup in Germany, ended with a quote by Islam's prophet, Muhammad, condemning nationalism.

No, I didn't see it. I read that there was a problem with a certain member giving out someone else's identification. However, this is an article that was "in the news" so I decided to post it. If it goes against rules then I apologize.

    ahh politics........

Yes. Islam is against anything in which they would have to go "heads-up" against anyone else. Islam would be all for it if they could get away with planting mines in the opposing teams lockerroom, hell they could be #1 if that were the case..............

exaggerated perhaps, but closer to reality than many of us realize.

actually no sports are not. Against Islam. I did not read the article and wont. But sports is not against islam. it says in the Holy Quran that a healthy lifestyle is important including sports and weightlifting.

True. but you know that in the Political forum Badgerman really could not hurt anyone. But now that it's gone, he is posting in other forums and I fear that he could hurt someone with his shitty advice.

Your avatar speaks volumes as to your mental state......I'm sure you could hear plenty of right wing evangelicals preaching aginst pro sports in America too........and volumes have been written about sports parents......assault of umpires etc........so yes.......many of the actions in sports violate the tenets
    of many religions........now drop it

No need to close a thread over one person. Just put someone who is annoying on your ignore list, it really is a nice option here.

I don't see why some are glad the Political forum is closed. You come to a forum of your own free will...if you don't like it...stay out of it, its that simple. I have an opinion about certain threads on here, but hey, each to their own.

Well it should fit with all the other BS on the lounge,...like..."I picked my nose today", or "My girl left me for a one legged, albino, circus midget", or "I just had a really good poop". Hopefully any discussions regarding politics, or religion will not dumb down the lounge too much.

Well said Teabagger! There is always gonna be a "im drinking coffee while on, will it affect my cycle" threads or something similiar unfortunately. Why has the Political Forum been closed down anyway?

Hey..I actually asked that dumb ass question b4 I started my 1st cycle I live in a coffee society and had no idea if and how espresso would affect my body with other compounds. Now I see how ridiculous that question was. We are all newbies at some point

Sorry Zoaib, didn't mean to sound so cut n dry :S

I know all Muslims aren't against Soccer, as a matter of fact (and this is gospel) when Bin Laden was in London getting a education he was an Arsenal Football club supporter and apparently went to a few games in Highbury.

Yep, Bin Laden is a Gooner.

Sorry as well AIZ! I'm always curious about lil things when lifting iron/dieting. Everyone looks for ways of improving on what they already know. Who's the woman in your avatar? Looks familiar.

No need for apologies...I was making fun of my own questions. When being a newbie everything turns into a question.

    The girl is Shiraz...Israeli model.

AIZ... I like you bro and we always have good conversations...But I've gotta say that I've grown tired of seeing you constantly grinding your axe with muslims/islam and than those members grinding theirs towards Israel. I mean, you are totally within your right to post a news article such as this, its just that almost all of the threads you start are geared in some way to make Muslims/Islam look ridiculous. In any case, Im just posting this because I'd like to see more of your personal view points on issues OTHER than Muslims/Islam as I think your an intelligent and rational person.

Fair enough but keep in mind that I've always differentiated between Muslims and Jihadists. I've done this because there is a critical and deeply-rooted difference between the two.

Similar to the differences between Jews, Hebrews, Israelites, and Zionists?/

No, its not the same. Zionism simply refers to a belief in a return to Zion, the homeland. It is not waging a global war on other countries.

Interpreting the others is a matter of opinion. I'll leave that up to you. Badger, don't turn this into a symantec religious debate. Let's let it go. I'm trying to get this post closed.
