well, the really cool part is, you can do sooooooo much OFF the main story line, sidequests and such (i mean ALOT), and you can do 'em for all the factions...it's still the best RPG to date, IMO (outside of mmorpg's)...

The fact that they can do things outside of the main quest so well is what gives me hope that they will make fallout 3 well

fallout 1 and 2 where brilliant because of the rich world and insane freedom.

    requirements for Oblivion:

    minimum:

    windows xp
    512 mb ram
    2ghz pentium 4 or equivalent
128mb direct 3d compatible video card

recommended (to REALLY appreciate the superb graphic detail):

    3ghz pentium 4 or equi.
    1gb ram
ati x800 series, nvidia geforece 6800 series, or higher video card

*see, i had a geforce 6200, so i couldnt set the graphics at a good enough setting to fully appreciate the detail (but i've seen it on a comp. that did, and OMFG dude...)

one thing that is pissing me of about morrowind right now is how bad it sux to be a mage. I mean WTF the magica system is SHIT. I am a breton apprentice level 37 and only have 375 in magica(300 realy but I have a amulet that gives constant effect 25+ inteligence).

I hardly ever use magic because of this. Instead I **** everything up with a uhh whats its name now, dremora(or was it daedric always mix those names up) claymore with paralyze on it.

I sure hope in oblivion that you gain magica for each level instead of it beeing fixed by the intelligence score

It was a bit to easy to become powerfull aswell. Havent encountered anything that can beat me one on one so far after I passed level 20 or so.

oblivion magic system is pimp since u kan design ur own spells and stuf but u kan download MODS much like dungeon siege that give u an almost unlimited variety of spells and what not. and since all ur foe's are always the same level as u its pretty well balanced throughout the whole game... get bit by a vampire and u better get a cure for it kuz traveling only at night really starts sucking

but is the magica as limited as in morrowind? I mean the best spell I have designed in morrowind so far does 200 in damage but it eats 100 of my magica. So even though I have maxed out my intelligence and have a 25+ intelligence amulet I can still only cast that spell 3 times. Thats anoying

I guess I have to check for some mod that either gives magica for each levelup or decrease cost of spell with increasing levels.

The most anoying enemy in morrowind so far is those god damn assasins that pop up when I sleep(I think its part of one of the additions I have installed). Those ****ers have paralyze daggers and nowdays always comes in pairs. ****ing assholes.

havent tried it. Never been a big fan of c&c, I loved red alert though. When it comes to strategy Star Craft is still the best and I LOVE Total Annihilation. Jesus christ talk about a ****ing incredible game.

Neverwinter Nights, Final Fantasy 3 (in US, 6 in JAP), Xenogears for PS, and Heroes of might and Magic 4!

I'm more of a shooter/strategy guy myself but these stand out in my mind!

if you like heroes of might and magic 4 you HAVE to play 2 and 3. They blow 4 away. 2 is a old dos game but still the best game in the series(havent tried 5 yet). Cant count all the hours I have spent playing 3 with friends though.

Ive played em all, I liked 3 and 4 the best, 4 just allowed a bit more creature development. Great series though, 5 wasn't as enjoyable though...
