Iranian opposition groups speak out against Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
“He can’t comprehend the situation he’s facing, and he can’t even understand the consequences he’s talked himself into,” said Ebrahim Yazdi, a former foreign minister who now heads the Freedom Movement of Iran, a leading opposition group.

Speaking at his home, where songbirds lighten the mood outside, Yazdi, who served as foreign minister in the first days after Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini returned to Iran in 1979, suggested that Ahmadinejad might not be able to serve out his full four-year term, which ends in 2009.

“He is not competent for the job he holds, and more people are saying it out loud,” said Yazdi, who remains under investigation by the government for his outspokenness and, until recently, his frequent trips to the United States.

Obviously, Not every Iranian is for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as president, although many here would have you think that this was the case.

One thing I can not understand(no offence meant at all) is how can you guys can belive Iran is in anyway equal to the united states when it comes to military capacity when the states ALONE spends more money on defense than the combined spending of the following 20-30 biggest spending nations?

Lets just be realistic here. Im not even american and not a fan of americas military actions around the world, but I can admit that no nation in the world stands a chanse in a all out war with usa. There is just no way unless we talk about a war with russia where there can be no winner.
